Wakesurfing is Making Waves, Literally: Here’s How to Get Into the (Surprisingly Easy) Water Sport
Rolling Stone journalist Oscar Hartzog recently caught up with MasterCraft Chief Revenue Officer George Steinbarger and team athlete Austin Keen to dive into the growing popularity of wakesurfing and what you need to get started with the sport.
Keen explains that a lot of the appeal of wakesurfing is how beginner-friendly the sport is. He says, "the greatest thing about wakesurfing is it’s got to be the easiest action sport with the quickest gratification". “I’ve taught so many people who have zero experience on a skateboard, or any type of board at all..."
To answer wakesurfing's rise in popularity, MasterCraft rolled out many features to generate more rideable wakes than regular boats. Steinbarger explains how a tab system, a ballast system, and a unique hull design work together to create some of the biggest, smoothest waves you’ll find behind any boat.
