SALTWATER ENGINE UPGRADES
Ilmor engines come standard with a convenient engine flush hookup and a corrosive protection paint. When opting for a saltwater package, the base motor will be upgraded to an Ilmor 5.3L or 6.2L GDI V8. Opt for even more power by upgrading to the Ilmor 6.2L Supercharged engine. These engines feature an efficient, completely closed-cooled system and produce 365HP, 430HP, and 630HP respectively.
Available exclusively on the MasterCraft X24 and X26—and now for 2025 on the XT24 and XT25—the Supercharged 6.2L provides unprecedented power and performance. With 630 horsepower and 665 lb-ft of torque, the Ilmor Supercharged 6.2L is the world's most powerful towboat engine.
Standard on the X models, the 6.2L GDI boasts 430 horsepower of towing excellence. The 6.2L GDI is part of Ilmor’s gasoline direct injection engine series. With precise fuel injection technology, this high-tech engine maximizes fuel efficiency.
Built for saltwater excellence, the 5.3L GDI has a closed-cooled aluminum block. With 365 horsepower, it provides outstanding top-end performance. Electrical Bonding Harness
An electrical bonding harness adds additional protection to the metal components you find under the waterline.
Hydraulic Steering
Hydraulic steering is more corrosive resistant than the stainless-steel cable systems used by competitors in their saltwater offerings.
Sacrificial Anodes
MasterCraft's underwater gear uses aluminum anode bonding for optimal durability and longevity. Aluminum anodes provide better corrosion protection for underwater gear, whereas competitors use less efficient zinc anodes.
Spaghetti Mesh Liner
When opting for the saltwater package, MasterCraft's standard storage floor lining is replaced with an easily washable and mildew-resistant rubber mesh lining.
Stainless Steel Shocks
