MasterCraft Boat Company has announced the return of its inspiring 'Surf to Save Lives' campaign for the third consecutive year, uniting watersports enthusiasts nationwide in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. With a goal of raising $75,000 in 2025, this season-long fundraising initiative brings together families, athletes, and boaters to create lasting memories on the water while contributing to St. Jude’s lifesaving mission.
Since its launch in 2023, the Surf to Save Lives campaign has raised $150,000 for St. Jude, with MasterCraft pledging another $75,000 this year to bring the total to $225,000. From May 23 to September 30, participants nationwide can join the effort by logging their wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterskiing, or tubing activities through the MasterCraft Connect app. For every minute spent behind a boat, MasterCraft will donate $1 to St. Jude, providing crucial funds for childhood cancer research and treatment.
Participation is open to all boaters, regardless of whether they own a MasterCraft boat, making it easier than ever for anyone to contribute by simply downloading the app and logging their time on the water.
"We couldn't be more excited to continue the Surf to Save Lives campaign with St. Jude,” said Krista Schipner, Vice President of Marketing at MasterCraft. “It has been incredibly rewarding to hear how this initiative has positively impacted St. Jude families, and we're looking forward to another summer of creating meaningful memories on the water, all while supporting a cause that’s close to our hearts.”
At St. Jude, families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus entirely on their child’s care. For some patients, the cost of treatment can exceed $1 million, with more than 50 percent of families under- or uninsured. Donations like those raised by Surf to Save Lives are vital to ensuring every family’s needs are met.
The campaign’s official spokesperson, Alexa Score, embodies its mission. A childhood cancer survivor turned professional wakeboarder, TV host, and advocate, Score uses her platform to inspire others while championing the cause. For Alexa, the water represents more than just a recreational space; it was a source of solace and strength throughout her personal battle with cancer.
“Surf to Save Lives raises money for childhood cancer research by donating $1 for every minute someone spends behind a towboat,” said Score. “It’s a powerful and personal mission for me as a survivor. Knowing that time spent doing something joyful can directly help save lives is an incredible full-circle moment.”
Alexa’s passion for watersports goes hand-in-hand with her commitment to making a difference. “Being part of Surf to Save Lives means I get to merge my passion for watersports with a purpose that’s deeply rooted in my own experience. I understand firsthand how important funding is for research and treatment, and this campaign is a way to turn recreation into impact.”
Her advocacy also reflects the resilience and determination that guided her own story. “Our limitations don't define us,” Score added. “In fact, they can become the source of our greatest strength. Surf to Save Lives is a chance to show that even through challenge, we can create something meaningful, support others, and bring hope where it’s needed most.”
Beyond the campaign, MasterCraft employees have an additional opportunity to contribute through a dedicated Employee Giving Program, further emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting St. Jude’s mission.
MasterCraft invites families, athletes, and the entire watersports community to take part in Surf to Save Lives this summer and transform time on the water into hope for children battling life-threatening illnesses.
