LT-1 vs. LT-R

We're currently looking to buy a used direct-drive, with the 205 being one model we're considering.

I'm being told that one we're looking at is a 1999 205 Sammy Duvall with an LT-1 engine. Looking online, it seems as though in 1999 MC switched to the LT-R engine, however.

What are the differences between these engines, and does anyone have any recommendations on them?

I've read that the '99 had a weird interior also... is that just because of the different look of the vinyl, or are there other layout-type issues?

I think the LT-R has 330 hp vs the lt1 310 hp. I think it also has Northstar ignition. Thats the only info I could find in a hurry.

My 98 PS190 has an LT-1 rated at a conservative 328HP. I can say she flat out gets with the program! Great hole shot! It's an anniversary model and I have heard rumors they were tuned a little differently though...
Need LT-1 parts?
OIL FILTER: Factory installed is a Penzoil P23, Afta market brands, AC Delco PF-454 and a Fram PH-13 or PH-30 will work.
SPARK PLUGS: AC Delco MR43LTS (gapped to .040")
FUEL FILTERS: AC Delco 25171391 (pump inlet side)
89058397 (pump outlet side)
IGNITION WIRES: Call Inboard Online @ (877) 327-7175 and order part numbers 556010A (odd bank) and 556010B (even bank)

I think the standard LT1 of that era was around 330 hp with the 98 Anniversary boats having a different cam or something and giving it 350 hp.

That's all give or take 20 hp.

99 was a bizarre interior selection IMO. No vinyl on the motorbox and a return to the ski locker in the floor a/k/a the live bait well. Still the same hull though.
