Hey Johnny we are in Calumet as we speak. The trails have been great. A lot of winter left up here. Where are you at?

Wife and I were in Wetmore on Thursday and Friday. Had to come home friday night for Saturday for personal obligation.

Too bad we are not still there....could've headed over your way to meet up.

Watching weather closely to go back next Saturday/Sunday.....plenty of snow but looks like 50deg highs.

You are right, lots of trail left and awesome conditions once rain let up.

How many miles do you drive during winter months? Have you considered dedicated snow tires./ studded? I put studded Nokian winter tires on my 2wd Sprinter van, and I think I can go almost anywhere with it. I know there is a time and place for tire chains, just wondering if you'd be better served with the dedicated winter tires for the other 3 days in 30 years, and also the other 2700 or so...if that makes sense. And you're driving a 4wd.

If you want to ride next weekend I would head to the Keweenaw.

I slid backwards twice one weekend at my cabin - destroyed the rear quarter panel - only saving grace was hit same side twice! After that I've only ever used studded snows on my F250, and I ditched the trailer for a sled deck. I used chains for a while, but really only need them in extremes like u just had and studs prob wuda worked there too. My drive is 1200 miles round trip to Northern Quebec to find proper off trail wilderness.
