2006 197 TT Power Slot Fluid?

I have a 2006 197 Tournament Team and have confirmed with Indmar (by the hull number) that I have a power slot transmission. The tag on the tranny says ZF HURTH MARINE, model ZF 45 A - 1.3, A= 1.26 B=1.26.

My question is that I have heard and read that the power slot transmissions take 10W40 motor oil, and when I went to change the fluid - it has red dexron ATF in the reservoir?

After talking to two dealers, I got two different answers. One said - "do not change from what is currently in there" and the other said that "you can use either, the heavier 10W40 is used to quiet the transmission".

Any experts out there that can give me the straight skinny on what is should put back into the transmission?

Thanks in advance!

Use 15/40 the same as you put in the motor.

I have the 05 TT with the same transmission and use 15W-40 as recommended in the manual and as noted above. I run Royal Purple in the tranny and Amsoil in the engine, same weights. Just continuing what the PO had done.
