Any X46 Owners / Users?

I'm looking at this boat (2016 X46) - anyone have experience?
Current boat is a 2004 24' I/O so it's a big upgrade
Thanks in advance

I currently own a 2014 X46 with 6.2L motor and Gen2. I have loved the X46, along with any crew members that have come along with me. My buddy who owns a G25 prefers my X46 wake. Being a bigger boat it does require more weight in the back to produce a comparable wave to my 2013 X30. I keep 200-300 # of lead in the back in addition to the stock tanks and bags. This is a great boat and very underrated IMHO. It has great length and storage for a big crew, but handles like a much smaller boat. With the new behemoths coming out, I'm sure there are some great deals to be had on the X46.

I own a 2018 X46 and ordered it primarily because I knew they were moving more towards the deep/high gunnel surf boats and this would be the last year to get one. We have had several X45's prior to this boat. For us we prefer the lower side profile, ample room and transom seating.

We primarily wakeboard but when we get tired or water conditions are choppy we do surf. The wakeboard wake cleans up at 18.5 mph so it works well for novice riders. If you load it up the wake gets large and steep for advanced riders.

Coming out of your Chapparal, the X46 will be a huge upgrade. The fit, finish and quality is substantially better. For water sports there is also no comparison the X46 will be great

We have a 2016 X46 with the 7.4. It's a beast! We too like the gunnel height. The new boats aren't as appealing since they all look like tanks. We mostly surf and have added 300lbs of lead in the back. This makes the wave great when it's just me and my wife. It just gets bigger and better with more people. This boat has a unique layout that appealed to me and my wife. It still has that sports car handling. It's roomy, rides good in rough water and can hold a lot of friends and the storage is more than enough. To me it's one of the best Mastercrafts that I have owned. We have had an X10, X25 and X20.

Cons, the out of the box (factory) surf wave isn’t great. Other than that, it’s a great boat.

2016 X46

Keep in mind also a 24í i/o includes the integrated swim platform and the x46 does not (itís detachable). A xt22 or x22 may be more comparable to your current boat size.
The x46 is a great boat btw.
