Wake Gate for X7
Hey,
has anyone had any luck on a (2002) x7/197 and a suck gate? none of the ones i have seen have small enough cups to work with the stepped hull i have. we can surf but anything more would be great... |

I couldn’t find suction cups small enough and strong enough to make a suckgate for our old X7. So I made one that attached to the swim platform. Worked like a charm, but I had to drill a couple of 1/4” holes in the platform.

Only thread on team talk where small cups are ok ....
Seriously, play with mounting position .... call Mission and see what they say for your hull, bet it works. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Mission didnt have anything to say about my hull other then just play with position. hard to spend that much with that advice. I think i would have to pull the MasterCraft decal off.
I did spend 10mins making a ghetto gate (and you can tell it was 10 mins). It actually works pretty decent to make a wave on diver side (prop rotation and all), I am not goofy but did learn to surf heal side anyway so thats not a terrible result. I may make a better one after I play some more. I wanted to post a pic of how ghetto it really is but didnt work. |

i have a nauticurl i use on our X9 that i really like - not sure how small the cups need to be on your X7 but it fits nicely on the 9, even though there is a relatively small area near the rear below the waterline for it to mount.
wasnt there another that people were using on early X2 (i think?) that had an especially difficult hull - bobgate, or something like that? |
