Fresh Water Cooling

Would a fresh water cooling system from a GM big block work on my GM 350 TBI?

Did some homework. Looks like it's a no go. To bad, I had a handle on a system very cheap,

Fresh water, or closed loop? I have to ask, because the only thing on a fresh water cooling system, is the raw water pump, and the trans cooler.

I always word this one incorrectly. I believe i meant a closed cooling system. I asked the question on a whim because a local guy was doing a repower on his big block boat w/a crate motor and selling the closed cooling system, remote oil filter etc. from the old motor.
