I get what you are saying, but to me Memorial Day and Veterans Day serve similar purposes in that both serve as a time of celebration as well as remembrance. Youíre right in that every day should be one of gratitude and thanks to those who put it all all the line for our freedom. I canít thank my dad, grandpa, and countless other Veterans (living or passed) for what they did and continue to do for this country.

Celebrate any way you choose and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Just so long as you celebrate the fallen; that's all they ask of us.

"Heavy" beer is for wine drinkers that are too embarrassed to drink wine in front of their buddies. "Light" beer is a drinkin' man's beer!

A day for those in uniform who didn't make it home.......

Our town of <3000 has a parade every year. It's small...vets marching with flags, followed by wagon of American Legionnaires, marching band, fire trucks....stops at mid-point on the bridge across the river for legion 21 gun salute followed by a single bugler (trumpet from marching band) plays taps....classy.
