Also very interested. I would love GPS on my touchscreen but no way I'm paying $700+ for it.

I got my small thumb drive from MC/Dealer. I got tired of trying to make mine work...several times and couldnt get functioning. I must admit, I havent gotten the service guys too involved either. My opinion, save your cash and use google unless you're on the ocean.

And what did it cost? Is it just the Navionics Maps card?

Do you have to leave the thumb drive in? Does it stick out far enough that it could be knocked out by swiveling the chair? Sorry for all the questions....

yes the thumb drive has to stay in. no the chair wont hit it, but you could always get a short 6" USB extension cord so you can allow it to sit in the pocket below just to give you peace of mind.

The thumb drive that is used by MC is the very small. It may stick out a quarter of an inch. its not even noticeable.

Interested to see the final result here. The odd time we are on a big/unfamiliar lake and it would be useful.

Im interested as well and not to jump in on your post but can you connect a Garmin etrex through the USB to display on the Murphy screen?
Anyone tried this before?
