My physical therapist said she was pretty certain itís a herniated L4/L5 disc. Go figure itís the same one I herniated in high school... She did dry needling and then pelvic traction this past week (which hurt like heck that night by much better the following days), but is going to suggest to the doc that I get an MRI and a cortisone shot sooner rather than later. I suppose it better I do this in the fall than the spring.

Traction wont solve this and prob...therapy should never cause pain afterwards btw. Rest, anti inflammatory Drugs, steroids are the best option initially. Try the epidural shot w steroids for quickest relief. After 6wks if ur not making significant progress, surgery may be the answer. Don’t procrastinate w nerve issues if they don’t improve, you could end up w irreparable damage.

Since everyone likes pictures... two herniated discs with the L3/4 much worse than the L4/5. To top it off they feel have an inflamed Piriformis muscle. Starting with injections then going from there.

Just met with the orthopedic surgeon today . In 1988 I broke my back in a hunting accident . Thirty years later I have a misformed vertebrae , one buldged disk and two torn . Gave me the option of spinal fusion or steroid injections . Steroid injections it is

Never wanted to use any drugs but now I have some health-related issues and it looks like CBD oil could be helpful. And least I managed to find some info about it on greenshoppers and it proves that in my case CBD can be effective. So, if you were me, would you use it?

ErrorMacros ... I have no background using CBD oil or anything else related ... personally, where I work can do random drug tests and if that might be the case for you, I would research if the CBD oils (or other related) could/would show up if I happen to get one of those random drug test. Just a random thought that popped into my head.

If drinking skunk scent would help my back, I would chug it. Itís been 8 months since I hurt my back and Iím nowhere near ready to start skiing again.
https://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk...ad.php?t=86578

The doctor gave me simple exercises to do at home but didnít prescribe PT because I work out at the gym twice a week and I swim and use the whirlpool. I have lower back pain and tightness 24/7 and exercise does seem to help a little, but if I get up from a chair the wrong way I get the sharp stabbing pain that shoots across my butt cheeks. I have an appointment next week with the spine specialist and I hope that this time they will do an MRI.

seems to me that if after 8mos ur no better, then at least PT should be prescribed, and your workout needs to be stopped/altered dramatically. As long as you have no weakness and just pain, thats actually a positive. Far as Im concerned, weakness is when alarms go off for me!

I'm here again with you all.. Been fighting off and on since I was 23 when first diagnosed with an acute lumbar strain. Being in ski condition always seemed to help me through from age 25 to 45, and into 50, and through that time if I tweaked it it was obvious.. I was crooked right above the waste. The crooked doesn't happen too much anymore but ever since turning 50 I cant get it right.

I have been to multiple chiropractors, gotten multiple x-rays and also an MRI at a ortho surgeon. Chiro's say they will fix me and are always gun hoe the first couple visits, but then it just turns into the same old same old, and nothing gets better.
My one surgeon visit, which included an MRI, was like over 30 days after my injury so when she didn't find something injured, there was nothing she could recommend, except physical therapy, which did help a bit

So from the time I turned 50 until now, a few weeks from 52, I just cant get it right. I have good months and bad weeks. I believe I have a stress problem (brain) that affects my muscles and goes to my lower back. Proven a few times while on vacations with no pain and the Sunday before going back to work, I'm aching and hurting. I even fell down the steps and landed on my back on vacation, and did not strain my back doing that. It hurt!! LOL

So with a combination of stress related tightness, I continue to pull, strain, tweak, and damage SOMETHING in my back.
I started to read the book "Healing Back Pain" that talks about TMS and how your mind and stress can affect you. I need to finish that darn book because I believe its part of my problem.

To me, the uneducated, and internet browser, I blame the Erector Spinae and its attachment and trigger points. (see image) Because the pain sometimes includes neck pain and middle back pain.

My latest story is; I started working out between Christmas and New Years. I was doing core, weights, cardio, and it was going well into late February. I was felling better. Then one morning throwing that ball up on the wall while crouching up and down, a move I had done several times before, the back tweaked and I have been fighting that ever since. Too me it is damaged.

Two weeks ago a friend put on a low impact plan with Yoga, stretches and dynamix stuff. 8 days in I was feeling good until I did a rotation move and once again the back said, F.U. and here I am back to square one of damage control..

Reading pmkkdx post about the Airrosti has me intrigued but wouldn't you know it, the closest they get to me is a 2 hour drive.

I need that one doctor/professional to tell me WTH is exactly wrong and how to fix it. Maybe a sports medicine type of person.. I am not done in life and this inconvenience of lower back strain is driving me nuts. Taking reccomendations..

CBD is different from THC. THC is what they look for when they do drug tests and what gets you high. CBD is totally different. IIRC, there should be no issue here because CBD comes from a different strain of hemp plant. That hemp plant has little to no THC in it. It's been a little while since I read Marijuana Manifesto by Jesse Ventura, but I believe that is the case.
