86 prostar questions

Looking at an 86 prostar. 1080 hrs. Hull and interior are in great shape. Real small amount of water in bilge. However, there is what looks like oil in the bilge area. If the oil filter and oil was changed recently is this to be expected? The engine oil and trains fluid look real good, no water in either. No apparent leaks anywhere on the motor. It does clunk a little when shifting into gear, not too bad though. Concern? My main concern is a prop that has some damage on it. Since I don't own it I can't properly test the shaft for vibration, what is everyone's thoughts if the propshaft is ok?

Boat is listed for $8000. I feel it's a $6500 boat at best. Please give some input!!

Without pictures of the boat, your price guess is as good as anybody's. It is a 30 yr. old boat and very well could use some repairs. $6500 could be a proper price but if it needs exterior and interior work that may still be too high.

From what you described, 5k would be closer to value. At 6500, there should be no known issues and at 8k, it should be pristine!
