Luckily Saturday afternoon I got to whitness what I've been waiting for, we shot 7 ducks and 2 geese and he retrieved all but 1 cripple that got to the middle of the river. He held good and never broke, I'm overly impressed with his blind manners for a 11 mo. old dog. Most of the ducks were doubles at 60-80 yards in the current and he handled them like a pro. I'm one proud dad.

They could have done that this year and we still wouldn't be able to kill our limits, we haven't gotten a push of birds since a small push in early December. At this point even if we get a hard cold snap I doubt that most of the birds would even push, why would they make that journey at this point. I can see the ducks doing it but the geese will stick it out for the most part.
