Hawaii waterskiing

This past week the wife and I to a trip to Kauai. After watching Marcus Brown and Flowpoint TV on youtube I knew I wanted to waterski one of the days I was there. If you have the chance and time I would recommend it. Even when the winds are high the river is somewhat protected and it made for good skiing. They have a few skis and gloves something should fit, I am not super picky. Watch the Flowpoint for more info, here is a picture of me last week. It does not do the place any justice. It was absolutely amazing skiing with a view even though they are on the wrong boat.

Thanks for the pull Ryan.

I was there in January and thought it would be cool to ski on the river. A lot of great stuff on that island. Rustic Hawaii compared to the other islands.

I inquired about skiing when we were in Kauai last August, the conversation went like this:

"Hi, do you have any comp skis longer than 67 inches?"
"No."(all they had were intermediate level skis)
"Do you have a course we can ski?"
"No."
"Well, what do you do?"
"We take you up and down the river a few times. We have a Nautique."
"And how much is it? Really?"

If you want bragging rights to say you have waterskied in Hawaii, go for it. It's not a quality ski experience, but the scenery is gorgeous.

Side note: We really enjoyed Kauai, and would go back for another visit in a heartbeat.

I am just an open water skier and have only been on intermediate level skis. It was great to waterski when back home my boat is 2 months from touching the water. It was some of the most fun I have had behind a boat.
