With this boat, the Prostar, and the SN200, it seems the price should come down. The interiors seem to be going backwards with basic rectangles for seats and backs. Interiors from the late 90s and early 2000s were much more plush. All of these new boats remind me of a mid 90's Moomba (not a good thing).

Since it seems everyone is trying to get the smallest wake, I don't understand making the boat longer. The lastest gen of ski boats are still even or slightly better than wakes from a early 90's Prostar. Adding 12-18" of length doesn't seem to help. With lake restrictions, seems like a trend to less than 20' would come back. But, what do I know?

There are a lot of folks on here with perfectly fine tow boats worth $10-$20k that don't/won't see the value in this upgrade even if they have the financial wherewithal.

You must have read my mind. My '92 PS 205 serves my needs very well. My lifestyle and skiing ability would not improve one iota if I had a more recent PS 197 or a brand new Prostar.

I could upgrade if I really wanted/needed to, but it's not going to happen.

Malibu doesn't often come out w/ 4 new models in a single year. In fact, I cannot remember another year when that happened. Typically it's 3 or 4 models spread between Axis and Malibu combined, with no more than 2 in the Malibu lineup. For example, in MY14 Malibu only had 1 new model (23 LSV) IIRC.

I think it's widely assumed new X-star is coming next year, but fair point that it's a year tardy. I for one am hoping it goes back to 22' or thereabouts. MC desperately needs a pickle between 20' and 23'. Biggest void in the lineup imo.

I feel like this goes both ways for all types of boats though. I think its a mentality that a lot of people have developed which is why the used market is flourishing. but at the same time, don't you think you could hit one more buoy behind a new prostar?

Sorry I should have been more clear. 4 new models in Malibu & Axis. 2016 was the A20, VTX, M235, & 25LSV.

It would be awesome to see a new Xstar by 2018, seems like that boat has been lost for a few years now.
