Before leaving, Inspect the tires for problems or damage, have a spare tire or two to take on the journey, check tire pressures before leaving, pack and inspect wheel bearings, and then just go for it. Whenever you stop put your hand on trailer wheel hubs to see if they are more than warm, check out tires for any problems, and enjoy the ride. Trailers are meant to be used on the road, what's the problem? I have taken many boats across several states, with never a glitch, provided I did the aforementioned checks.
