I'm wondering if it could have been painted at some point? The pinstripe is wrong and decals look pretty clean from the pics, is it possible it's paint that's chipping off primer?

Thanks! Ya the wife is about over me rolling into bed around 2am smelling like gelcoat or glue or grease... Decals and a final buff wax and that'll about do it for now.

Just to close this out (if anyone gives a hoot) I got a piece of 1/2" stainless stock, cut, grind, and polished, then inserted with a little marine jb. Good as new!

Don has the correct sizing, he installed these decals on new mc boats in the mid to late 70's. My full set through them was $150, should receive today....

Maiden voyage today, took the family and cousins...

Maiden voyage today, took the family and cousins out on Whiskeytown Lake, great time for all, no hiccups! Boat ran unbelievably well, comfortable and clean. :)

Anyone know where good decals are found? I ordered a set from redline graphics on eBay, stars were usable but a little tall, "Master Craft" was too wide, looking for the old left-slanted font.
