I know your post was many years ago, but I found something your wrote about surfing behind your 205 DD (below). I just picked up a 2000 205 with the same exact color scheme as the boat your pictures. It sounds like you surf behind your boat w/o ballast all over the boat. I have no idea how much ballast to add and I was hoping to keep it as clean as possible so I wanted to try adding a bag to the trunk as you suggest, one under the rear seat, and one the ski locker. Can you tell me where you found a 500 lb bag to fit the truck?

Yes, we surf without the rope and we move up and back on the wake. We're at about 9.5-10 mph and any extra guys I have on board sit on the trunk with their feet on the swim platform. Thanks for your comments on my post regarding the prostar 205dd vs V vs the 209. It sounds like you use your boat in a very similar mannar to how I would use it. Mainly Slalom, but then wakeboarding and surfing as well. I had a coupld of questions regarding the surfing wake behind your 205DD.

When you weight it as described in the post, are you able to surf without the rope? If so, how big is the sweet spot and how close to the swim platform do you have to stay in order to remain in the sweet spot?

I am pretty convinced that I want the DD for slalom, but the lake I boat on is rough much of the time and want to be able to have a good surf wake for those rough Saturday's.

-> btw, your 190 looked really nice. Other than TMCNo1's I haven't seen one that clean before. Really liked the colour scheme too. I almost bought a black and white '89 190, but it sold while I was on my honeymoon, so I bought my '79 instead.
