Since we all know you love toons, I assume this is what you're replacing the 30 with?

I mean it would shrink the fleet lol

This is strange to say the least. I'm assuming it's some sort of v-drive? Also, it says they loaded it with 6000lbs of ballast and took it to 42mph no problem. What? Wish there were more pictures or a video.

Should be easy to sink a surf side corner via pontoon.

but can you surf down the water slide and catch a wave behind the boat?

It never ceases to amaze me how many pictures get posted of drivers looking backwards.

They are using a PCM inboard engines according to the article.

I call BC on 42 mph with 6000lb of ballast. I would like to see the boat even plane out with that much weight.

This is probably a big nothing burger.

The surf wave looks terrible. The video and this picture on the website are not something I would want out there when you say your competing with the inboard world.

This is the perfect boat design for the sport. I don’t see why this wouldn’t sell like hot cakes . Match made in heaven. Now you could easily identify the douche canoes on the lake who drive 11mph in circles for 8hrs

Do you think this is to compete against the surf boat market? IMO I think it's another way to increase profits on the sale of a pontoon. As with most everything the real profit is in options and accessories. Folks buying pontoons, I don't believe, aren't going to jump all the way over to a dedicated surf boat as they are so different. Thought?

As someone with both a new pontoon and MC.. I really don’t see buying one or the other. The benefit of the pontoon boat with the outboard being so quiet and fuel efficient, I wouldn’t want a Vdrive toon. just IMO

Yep on their website http://www.montaraboats.com/. Along with "surfer" reviews.

I am more interested in 6,000lbs of ballast running 42mph with a tuber behind the boat!

You can chat with them through the website. I just requested proof that this can happen.

Web pictures of the boat on the trailer look only slightly less stylish than the WakeTractor.

Headquartered right here in Minneapolis...

I need to go see this 1M square foot facility they mention.

But I’m with Aric, going to keep my tow boating and pontooning separate.

That is fugly. Wonder if all this forward drive and inboard pontoon competition is going to reduce the price of inboard boats?

moosehead

“With prices starting at $69,995” for the surftoon....

The only thing that will bring wakeboat prices down at this point is a recession.

Now you could easily identify the douche canoes on the lake who drive 11mph in circles for 8hrs

Signature worthy.

Have you checked pontoon prices lately? If the surf toon is as nice as a Bennington (which it won’t be) it would be a bargain lol

Is there a flat spot in the side of the toons so that I can mount my suckgate?

Looks like the founder is Overbye who started Moomba, and then Gekko. I agree...probably won't replace a wake boat for those of us who have a pontoon and a wake boat, but will likely be a desirable option for those who just have a pontoon and want to mess around in wakesurfing before dropping the money on a tow boat.

Looks like some vintage '70's aluminum siding trimming it out.
