Hi guys,
Just picked up my new Prostar 205 Sammy Duvall. Pretty stocked at the moment. Super nice looking boat with a zero time engine.

I was having a look at the fuel system cause I had the pleasure of getting splash by fuel when doing my first fuel up at the tank. Then, I read the numerous posts on this infamous subject.

Now, can someone please tell me what this gray line does (line fuel or return). It's attached to some kind of metallic filter.
Second question : I take it this line is not suppose to be squeezed like that?

Thanks

JF

black one is for your speedo and the grey one is your fuel. That fuel line needs to be re-routed so it's not pinched. That does not look correct to me.

The more I look, why is the speedo tube screwed to the gas tank?!? That looks dangerous. It should be mounted on the side of the boat, next to the tank....not ON the tank.

Here is my 94' 205 tank. Fuel lines run on top of the tank.

Agree on all accounts.

The two screws on the far left, back side, is approximately where the metal Pitot tube for speedo should go. I think there are two (one on each side) to run two speedos.

Thanks for the answer. My boat is a 1997. The rear is different and I don't believe have space to screw the pitot tube there but I will try and relocate the pitot and reroute the fuel line.
