Took delivery of our new boat and haven't been this excited 😊 in a while. We went with black base with black mica accents and black cool feel seats and like me I know you're probably thinking..."eaZ...w the black ...". Gotta admit was really nervous but were so excited how it turned out. And w the black mica it seems in every different level of ambient lighting you've got a new different boat ... super 😎. Can't wait for this season to kickoff!

thx for all the compliments! looking forward to a great season!

I've actually tried the cool feel in black briefly - the local dealer had an X23 at the end of last season sitting in the sun about 85 degrees all day out front of their shop...sat in it moved around put my arms down it was really nice. Hot yes - hot as normal seats - not even close. I had black seat accents on my last one and would make sure we had towels down for guests and the kids or hit it with a shot of water first to make sure it didn't take the skin !(J/K but it was hot). Had white in my old Malibu VTX and it got hot too..they all do - but this is cooler than that. After a few trips this summer I'll get more info. but my experience in the lot sold me...and I've got a 5 year warranty for any issues that might arise with the new material - hopefully none will.

This is my second black boat - both top deck and bottom so Im familiar w/ the work but it's worth it for us - we really like it. Plus I like the way the seadeck looks w/ the black inside.

Man the bow on this thing is huge compared to the old X2...

Do you go out on the Ohio or go up to Brookville?

hvlx2
05-07-2017, 08:31 PM
Actually we live in hidden valley in SE indiana they've got a small 150acre lake we go out on quite a bit ....but when it cleans up we do hit the river and brookville usually a couple times a year. Also try to hit Norris and Cumberland at least 2-3 times a season too if we can

got my extra 10in. sub and two 7.7s installed....was kind of a PIA with the support bracket for the folding seat and the sub location had to fab. some stainless spacers to make it work but turned out pretty good. And the 7.7 location on the drivers side was really tight w/ the speaker ring but all in all extremely happy - huge improvement in overall sound quality

Nice setup. I just added an additional 10in sub in my X23. Its makes a huge difference for the bass.

How did you get those MC tags to go on the JL sub? that's pretty cool.

Put a factory sub back in that spot ...was messing around and the other ones hidden behind the seat

Very Nice Boat..love the colors. I also added another sub, 2 more mid speakers near driver and 2 more amps. I ended up adding a 12" JL Sub right under driver dash area and then 2x 7.7 JLs to right of driver and left of driver. Added a 750 amp just for that 12" sub and that thing bumps!
Made a huge difference in the overall sound system when the zones were tuned and dialed in.

So you have three subs in there? Or did you only have one to begin with?

I have two subs in the boat. My 2015 only had one 10" by the drivers seat and now one across from it. The added sound quality is incredible.

you both had Great installs. Look perfect..
Probably sound awesome too!!!.

I did an extra pair of 8" Bow/Cockpit subs in my X30.... not nearly as useful as a single 10"

My most recent Boat , I dropped a Dual-12" Sub in the Back to ad to the factory 10"
I wish there was a surface to mount 12" or even 10" on G series.
Direct radiating subs like you both did are the way to go , IMO.

Nice work!!

Does the G not allow for installation under the drivers helm?

Had it not been for the wiring under the drivers console I may have gone with a 12" sub there but it was going to be a PITA.

I actually like the location of the new 10" because it really uses more bass to the drivers side of the boat and the passengers really feel it.

For 150W to both subs, they sounds great. The JL website says that the optimal amount of wattage for these subs so for now this should work great.

there might be Room in the helm, I never looked closely. I really wanted to get more SUB towards the rear this time. The 2x12" JL Box is Premade from JL, It made it easier to throw and go. Plus, I can restore boat to Factory and keep sub when I sell.

Totally agree about the Power, it does not require a ton to make the Subs perform. for me it more about moving some air at Low and Medium volumes.
