Daydreaming thread follows. What are your thoughts about a 2014-2016 X-30 vs a new XT23? Possibly the same price point. Ready---go!

Same price point? New XT23 vs used X30?
Your question seems rhetorical then...

Same price? Our new 30 wasn't within 20k of a new XT23.

Doubtful that price is similar for new '16 X30 vs new '17 XT23? Maybe close enough with sale promos?

'14-'15 MY X30's can be had at great pricing for low hours, well inside the new '17 XT23 all else equal config.

Only you can decide if the new $premium is worth it to you and in the budget.

XT23 for sure. Even for a bit more $.

Having the trashcan a separate cushion from the cooler would be enough to justify the XT23 in my book. After a day on an X23 with that I'm realizing that feature is amazing.

2014-2016 X30 for sure. I *love* these boats and one of them will probably be my next upgrade in a few years. They styling changes on the XT23 just don't do it for me.

I tend to agree. The X30 lines are just so much better. The Xt23 requires specific hull colors to really look good IMO.

I'd be really interested in the xt23 wakeboard wake vs x30

Riding both, the XT is better for sure. More lippy with less weight

I feel like this has been beat to death on this forum already. But here are the functional differences I noticed:

X30 benefits:
Easier access to transom remote placement

XT23 benefits:
New, more efficent closed cooled Ilmore engines
Improved Gen2 surf tabs
Dockstar
Flip up sunpad
ZFT7 power tower
Trashcan access seperate from cooler
Headunit access w/o opening glove box
Cool Feel Vinyl
Better helm seat (compared to 2014-'15 X30) that reclines and bolster actually stays up
Batteries are out of the way in coffin storage
Larger sunpad coverage to the aft

Cosmetics are personal preference; I also much prefer the bow seating layout of the XT23. Some 2017 haters on this forum to be sure, whether with regard to cleats, billet aluminum, upholstery, or other cosmetics. I felt the opposite w/ the exception of the MC shield, and I don't love the look of the observer armrest on the XT23.

I found the XT23 surf wave to be a little better port side, but substantially better starboard side when compared to an X30 w/ upgraded sacs. It's been pretty well agreed upon XT23 has better wakeboard wake, especially at slower speeds. Wife and I personally found the X30 ski wake to be a little softer 28-32mph @ 15' off. No difference 32mph+.

Both are great boats, but if price is equal this seems like a no brainer, especially when considering warranty and resale.

If serious, feel free to PM me w/ questions.

JBaker, You certainly helped me decide between the X30 and XT23, and I thank you for that. It's coming down the line now.

I would say demo both. I did. The surf wake on the 30 is better without messing with it much IMO. The XT has to be dialed in a bit.

That sure was a great overview (and unbiased) by Jbaker. Good luck with your decision. I would demo both if you can as suggested by others...

Awesome...just in time for the season. We need pics! I wish I would've had MC take pics of mine coming down the line.

What are you looking to use the boat most for? Wakesurfing, wakeboarding, skiing, or little bit of everything?

Perhaps I am biased, as I own a 30. I went to the Chicago boat show interested in the 23; but I was not impressed with either. Specifically - I really did not care for the interior finishings of the 23 - looked like after thought when compared to my 30 - specifically the spotter's seat looks more like a rectangle, the captain's seat is less appealing, the way the glove box does not wrap, etc...

I would say it all depends what you looking to use it for. If you aren't a die hard for wakeboarding or wakesurfing I would go with the XT. The XT is a multisport crossover boat that would be the perfect family boat. If you are looking for a surf wave and that you can fine tune, then the x30 would be the boat for you! Ultimately, both are great boats, you will love them both!!

Thanks for all of the input gang. I'm honoring the opinion of my beautiful bride, and we will wait until next year. Perhaps a used XT23 will be out there then, or lots of X-30's to choose from. For this summer, I'll add a 400lb Ronix bag to the bow to compliment the 800lbs in each of the rear lockers on our 2007 Maristar 230 and away we go:)

Surfing and skiing, oddly enough--no wake boarders yet in the family!

The XT is a bad arse boat. The wakeboarding wake is phenomenal, more so than the 30. I haven't had too much time to dial it in though since we got the boat at the end of the season last year, and we've predominantly have been surfing. But the XT has just the same ability to fine tune the surf wake as well. Still think the 30 is better for surfing out of the box.

Cobalt, I'd add Perfect pass, go surf assist and automate the ballast. Cheaper than a new boat ;)
