Hello Everyone, I recently sold my Tournament Team and am now looking at some crossovers. I am a water-skier, but fell in love with surfing last year. I imagine my boys will do more wakeboarding when they get older, but for now, they are skiers. I have heard great things about the x10 and have my eye on a low hour 2014 and 2016. Wondering if these boats will be obsolete shortly with the launch of the xt21. Should I really be looking at the xt21? Would appreciate any thoughts feedback on this. Thanks in advance!!

IMO, get yourself the X10 in 2014 or 2015 kit. She is the best crossover out there, period. No obsolescence, but you can save a chunk of change.

Only reason to go to XT20 is if you gotta have the pickle and if you think the recreational slalom wake is that much better incrementally. XT21 is gonna cost you, Bigly. I don't see it, could be wrong, but certainly not worth the cost-benefit vs. the X10's IME.

Surf X10 stuff here: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=68047

All great boats! I'd settle for the X10 just to save some $$. Personally, I don't think any of these boats will ever be obsolete.

Main reasons to look at the XT beyond cosmetics are more efficient closed cooled engines, dockstar, cool feel vinyl, new zft7 tower (my personal favorite), ~500 lbs. more stock ballast w/ gen2, and the sunpad flip up lounge seating. Relative to 2014 you'll also get an audio upgrade (BT) and a much improved helm seat. I haven't been behind an XT21, but don't assume the X10 performs the same in terms of ski or surf wake. That was certainly not the case with XT23 and it's predecessor. And of course you'll get a fresh 5yr warranty.

And FYI, with the current sales event the XT20 is avail for $86k, the XT21 $92k. That includes Gen2 and most must have options. Although you did not mention it in your post, if you are serious about skiing, the XT20 may be worth a closer look.

Curious if the XT21 wakeboard wake is any better than the X10.

^So what do the ala carte options of dockstar, cool touch, flip up lounge seats, and ZFT7 Tower add to the sale price of $92K on the XT21?

Best guess is my '15 X10 with 6.0L and a ton of upgrades and 170 hours would sell for what, $76K? (She's not for sale BTW).

Prob about $3.5k for the power tower (it's much more affordable than the ZFT5P). Guessing $1.2k for flip up lounge seats. Not sure on Dockstar since that's typically not a la carte, but the sales event already includes the attitude adj. plate that is typically part of the sport handling package. Maybe $3k?

Summer deal also does not include the 7" screen which most prefer. That's around a 7K upgrade.

Why would an NXT not be in this mix?
Product is below the X and XT series obviously but what is the end goal?

I'd go XT21 if it is in the budget

NXT20/22 are both great boats. My reasoning for considering XT would be for more automation, ballast timers, auto launch, and clamping tower that can fit under the boat cover. In the end it's up to the owner of those upgrades are worth the extra cash. Simplicity on the NXT line is very appealing as well. Good to have options.
