Larry's G is nice and all, but when we got hit by twofootitis it was an easy call to stay on the Light Side!

Think we're gonna need a bigger boat. At nearly 47% off sticker, jumped at this '15 X30 with 127 hours. It was the flake, machined billet, cleats, quilted seats and embroidered shield. Old skool.

Thanks gents, we'll not splash her till July at Lake Pend Oreille, it's meant for that big water. Had enough good QT in GT23's X30 to appreciate the extra stability while still pulling crossover duties. Bigger bags and lead already forthcoming.

We were real close to an X23 with pumpkin motor and 1:56 trans, but my wife said something about me jonesing to ski on glass mornings and noted that our neighbor's S&S wasn't always running. The X10 will stay in the fleet through at least July this year in CO, short-season, first-world. Hands down, still consider the 10 to be the best crossover out there, including pushing a big wave sacked.

Ap77, yes this is from Martin Motorsports. They made it easy and have a stellar inventory, really good guys.

Looks Awesome, plus you got the best looking ZFT4 tower made with the all the CNC machine work on the pivot points vs the new plain looking ZFT4 towers. :)

Great List, let me know what you think of this Nano Coating. I have a guy trying to sell me on the Ceramic Pro Coatings for my boat but I am not sold.

He claims it makes cleaning super easy with Zero water spots and the water line marks wipe right off. Right now my cleaning is easy because I have a severe case of MCOCD and I have zero spots.

They want to charge me $125/ft from the tower to the bottom of the hull.

any one just instantly think that the imperial march music was playing when they looked at this boat?

moosehead
04-26-2017, 09:26 AM
^kadam, you just determined the launch music, thank you sir.

I've used both Gtechniq and 22PLE on our vehicles and can confirm they are tremendous. Gtechniq has a marine section though note the products look identical:

http://usa.gtechniq.com/products/marine/protect/exterior/gel-coat/

IIRC, Cottager Greg recently used another nano coating cannot remember which one.

...the boat I just got has the Nano or ? Coating on it. The dealer said a company in San Diego used the Boat as a Demo for their product. They paid/charged nothing for it but said the guy told them it was around $3500.00.

So far Ive had the boat in 2 different HardWater lakes, SaltWater one day, and then left in SaltWater 3days.

It washed up nice and dried to a shine quickly for a Black Surface... not sure how long it last, but it was already on the Boat 6-8 mos before I got it.

Lol Nano coating for $3,500... maybe if you charge stupid amounts of money and get people to pay for it.

If its a new boat you wash, hand apply polish, wipe down boat with rubbing alcohol and then apply the coating. So call it one extra step than normal new boat detail it they are waxing it for you.

I used Glidecoat and its the same as CeramicPro and a fraction of the cost and they sell a complete kit with everything you need.

That was for the entire boat. from the hull to the tower, speakers, interior. etc.

They say it comes with a 5 or 10 year warranty I cant remember.

with a boat I heard the coating is good for 2 years on above water surfaces. Below water would be a year.

Well now that makes me not want to drop that kind of money even more. I had some reservation to begin with. My Waxing twice a year and WaxNDry keeps all the spots off my boat.

Don't fix what isn't broke. :D

^MCD, our nano coating on vehicles sent through extreme winter conditions lasts just under two years despite big snows, heavy mag chloride, and sun at altitude. They just easily hose down now with a sprayer, cutting way back on full washes and waxes. You can still wax over it, but it stays so slick with the nano coatings that clean and wax time is minimized.

As Cottager Greg described, it is a similar DIY to hand wash and wax and costs circa $200. In your brackish/brown water, heat, and sun, it would be a no brainer.

Just do it yourself and save the money... $225usd for a kit for a 29' boat... good for cars too

Sea Dek, '16 helm seat, 1100 bags plus 350 lead, fender clips, surf fingers/sleeve done. Ballast Kings and Led docking lights in hand to install this week.

The X30 surfs tremendously, skiis fine for me despite a bit of a rooster tail from the prop, and is damn stable in bigger water. Really enjoying the big screen, speaker ring lights, BTS, and 6.2L which needs a soft throttle so as not dislocate arm sockets on deep water starts.

Gotta give props to MC for another great crossover. Get why it is/was the unit sales leader.
