Nothing like a good Spring detailing!

Spent about 8-10 hours over the weekend detailing my 40th Xstar. Focus was just on the outside of the boat (not including the bottom of the hull..that will be another weekend along with the interior)

Rear transom needed some TLC as it was starting to fade being in the sun so much. Plus I wanted to coat the boat in Glidecoat (like Ceramic pro but much much cheaper and its the same stuff).

Look the chrome Mastercraft off the transom (will need to buy a new one), removed the platform. There are scuffs but did not want to sand the area as I would likely eat through the gel.

So all black areas in the rear of the boat got Chemical Brothers V32 and V34 cutting polish, all red flake on the sides of the boat got v34 polish.

Then I proceeded to use Glidecoat's Compound on the black in the back of the boat. The entire boat got a liberal dose of Glidecoat's polish.

Finally a finish coat of the Glidecoat Ceramic sealer. the Results speak for themselves! WOW not too bad for a 9 year old boat and 600+ hours. Next weekend interior and topside detailing.

Forgot the transom... look naked without the Mastercraft across the back.

Greg, the boat looks awesome. Ccan you go into some detail about this coating that you used?

It is like a wax or it is a clearish lighting like the ceramic pro stuff.

What is the application process like, etc.

I have been using Woodys Pure Carnuba forever. Its a great wax and it works really well, im open to trying something new.

I liked it because it came as a kit.. $225usd

kit has wash, compound, polish, cleaner agent and sealer. Microfiber rags and applicator pads.

Good for a 29' boat... so for me..SUV, several cars and my boat.

Is this applied with a machine or hand applicators?

That is sharp! I've always loved that 40th star red and black combo too. Just doesn't get much prettier than that!

I'll be dropping my boat off next week for you to work on :D

Looks great.

Did you check to see if those transom decals are still available? I think the factory is out of them. I was looking for one a year ago.

This looks like a great product. Did you find that you needed to use every product from the kit?

I don't have any fading on my boat so Im wondering if I could use the polish..

I used all the products.. the compound that comes with the kit is not overly coarse. It does do a good job of making the colours pop and get rid of some surface swirls that you'd fine. All products are wax/oil free which is important before you coat the boat.

I will ask my dealer, or may need to look at alternatives. I took the old ones off via some fishing line.

There are 2 sizes of these decals. May only be one size that they were out of.
