Recognizing this is against the hip trend, I'm strictly a Macro Beer kinda guy with the pilsners and lagers. Find no appeal in a meal in a glass.

Candiens are my favorite, but Dadweiser is a close second.

I've always referred to Coors light as water skiing beer due to the fact that you can enjoy it all day on the water without getting bloated and weighed down. Prefer something heavier once back at the dock or if just cruising around.

Founders All Day IPA (session IPA)
Silver Bullet is the go to light beer/lager
...sometimes switch it up and have Corona or Landshark

Just depends on the mood. While these are what I usually have on mine, I don't think I'd turn down any cold beer while on a boat.

Boat beer should never be classier than a Bud Light or Corona. Save the good stuff when when you get back to land.

I agree..... Bud light or a Landshark. COLD and light are the key on the boat. Save the heavy stuff for the bonfire at night.

Corona Light or Coors Light is our go to for the day on the boat. Usually Coors Light and then the Corona for a change of pace. BL, ML and even Ultra have made it on the boat too...

An evening cruise or later at night we get fancier with the beer. Actually by then I am usually "beer'd out" and move to a cocktail in the Mastercraft Yeti ;-)

I actually agree with the day drinking beer idea. I generally go to Bud Light Lime, yeah, really. Can drink all day without feeling it...much. IPAs etc are nighttime for me too. Can't imagine Guinness on the boat! It's like extra ballast...

Load the coolers up with half ultra or bud lite and the other half bud limes, I don't care what anyone says, bud limes on the lake are the shizzzz.

Now you're just making me feel lazy haha. Ive done it before but for some reason ive just never stuck to it and I just go the easy route with bl limes. Even though a cold corona has a much better taste. I guess when its 90 degrees and I'm on the water I'm just in such a good mood that I don't pay attention.

I drink beer because I like the taste of beer, not to drunk (not saying it never happens).

Everyday beer = Corona xtra because it is inexpensive and easily found. Actually Modelo Especial is just as good.

When I want to treat myself = Murphy's Irish Red.

No beer should ever come from a can nor be consumed from one.

I can't stand Virgin Lama Pxss Water (light beer). I'll just drink water.

The problem with good beer and especially liquor on a boat is that most of us are used to drinking lite beer in this situation. So out of habit we drink the good stuff like its bud light and things start to escalate quickly from there.

Loving this thread!

I'm with most, an "all day beer" ei: Miller Lite when at the lake.

Why? You can drink 13-27 of them a day and still have a conversation, rake the beach, wax the boat, play cards, enjoy the sunset, etc. Then, not be hung over and drink 11-32 of them the next day. Bud Light or Coors Light can be substituted as well.

I've been playing with danger for years here in Kansas where the Army Core lakes we go to have rules about booze. Nothing over 3.2 beer allowed.

I've never had 3.2 beer in my possession let alone on my boat.

The key I think is to have a bunch of kids on the boat, all wearing life jackets. When the waterpatrol comes roaring into the cove they go right by us and inspect the 20 year olds with the music blasting.

CantRepeat
04-08-2017, 09:13 AM
Is that 3.2 beer per person?

What does the Army Core of Engineers have to do with setting booze restrictions? BUI is BUI regardless of where you boat, right? Who patrols the waters, DNR?

It is very tasty but dangerous. Drink 1-2 and switch to water for a good bit. We do it in a 2 liter, pour out the top until it is to the top of the label, fill with everclear until it is back to where it started, then pour in 2 packs of the powder. Cap it super fast or it will turn into a volcano! Then give it a little shake. Bottle will expand but won't blow don't worry ;)
