Little help guys...

Boats been doing some weird stalling / no starting... figured it was the fuel pump again, but I removed it and tested it and it flowed what seemed fine.

I've noticed that when it wont start if i remove and plug back in that yellow plug on the drop of the fuel pump it seems to work. Im wondering if the connections are bad.

I ordered another pump from amazon and will just replace it but was thining of changing the female part of the plug (from the wire harness) but im not sure what plug it is.

Yep, shorting in the plug is unfortunately also common and sounds like what is happening to you. I've not messed with trying to replace the plug but hopefully someone else can be of help. Using a fuel pressure gauge is the best way to see if the pump is working correctly. Pumps going out can still provide some pressure but not enough.

Ok wasnt sure if a pump like the ones in those tanks are 0 or 100%.

Ive replaced it several time (we run fuel low a lot ... oops =) ) ....

Im really just looking for the other side coming off the wire, will keep digging and see maybe these on amazon just fit... ha!

on another note, this seems like the cheapest fuel sender unit?

Search the "Fuel Pump Wiring Harness" thread. I had the same problem & replaced the Black (male) wiring harness. Solved the problem

Okay so I had this issue and tried to avoid replacing the whole fuel pump including the housing it sits in or whatever you may call it... I called the dealer and they said the right way to get this done was to replace that and the complete wiring harness with their new and improved wiring harness that was released in 2010 or something like that. I ordered everything on eBay and had it done at the shop that takes care of all my stuff.
The boat never stalled or left me out in the middle of lake Havasu at 2 in the morning again... lol **** happens.

i believe the updated wiring harness removes the ground from the fuel tank ( you can probably see where a screw was in the fuel tank).

Thats not my issue. My issue is that my clip seems to have become worn out.

You also do not need to replace whole fuel pump canister thing, you can ger just the pump for $40 on amazon and if oyu are ok with spilling some fuel and being careful you can replace the pump for much less than the $800 they charger for the tank thing

I know. I replaced the $40 fuel pump 3 times till I realized the clip for the wiring harness was damaged so I just replaced the whole thing with the harness. The boat ran like New till I sold it. I now have an X25 with the ilmor 6.0 in it and have no problems other than my belt squeeking...

i got my fuel pump harness from rambo marine.

its a bit different that the one in my boat i think, my plug to the fuel pump module has 3 of the 4 wires being used, it then got to another plug and off to the dept of the boat i have not followed. the plug i got has a 4pin (with 4 wires) and another plug, and then has 2 10amp fuese on it.

Do you have a link to the fuel pump you've been getting on Amazon? Thinking of buying a spare to have around. Thanks.
