What is everyone's go to lake in the Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia region? I have been to a bunch of the big ones Lake Lanier (GA), Lake Hartwell (SC), Lake Keowee (SC),Lake Jocassee(SC), Lake Norman and Catawba river lakes(NC home lake), Lake Norris (TN), Lake Tellico (TN) and Smith Mountain Lake (VA). Looking for some other suggestion for trips and good places to meet the Mastercarft family. I am near charlotte and don't mind a tow for a good weekend or longer trip.

Lake Murray - great size (50k acres vs Lanier at 26, Norman 32, Keowee at 18) but not nearly as busy as places like Lanier. But since I live here I am obviously biased!

Dale Hollow (TN/KY border) has been a family vacation for us for years. Very beautiful scenery and very fun when renting a houseboat.

CLRussell that is just mean. I would love to be out like that but stuck in the middle of a refuling outage at a nuclear station. The only time I get to see light is when I drive into work. Lake norman looked that nice yesterday on the way in. Makes me want to just call in sick.

6kidsurf I will PM you when we get everything planned I know we are at least coming down for the day of river jam. I would love to try to meet up.

Are you refueling at McGuire? We are less than 1 mile from the plant off 73. Just picked up our x15 yesterday! Will be out there today.

I am at Claytor Lake in Virginia. It is about 2-1/2 or 3 hours from Lake Norman. It is super easy to get to. 3 miles from I-81. Claytor is not a big lake, but it is deep and long. We have a state park that rents out cabins right on the water. They have their own docks and you can park your boat 50 yards from your cabin. They also have camp sites. It is quiet, only two real marinas. One has light food available and usually has a band on Saturday nights. There are only 5 or 6 local boats that regularly wakeboard and surf.

That sounds like my kind of lake might have to check that out. It sounds like a good weekend get away with the boat. Keep an eye out for an Orange flake x30 this summer. If you see us flag us down. Always like meeting other team talk members. Thanks for the info

I second with rainman421, Dale Hollow Lake has become my second home. The water is super clean and other than the three holiday weekends, is not very busy. Also, it is very deep so newcomers don't have to worry about running aground.
