A lot of people already shared their opinion on the Bimini of the nxt 22. Besides looks, one of the main gripes was the fact that if you are taller than 5'6" you would hit your head. Well I got a simple fix that. Not only allow a 6'4" person to walk underneath but also looks aesthetically a lot better. The only thing you have to do is to shorten the 2 support rods in the center of the Bimini by 2 1/2", flip the front to the back and tighten the canvas! See before and after pictures...no more hitting your head and looks a lot better.

How does it do with coverage and wind when boating?

Wind was no issue going 30 mph on water...canvas was a little lifted of the support but nothing I am worried about. If you look at Bimini designs of tige or nautique the angle of the canvas is positioned up more than the positioning of mine.
In regards to coverage, with a low sun you will have a little less coverage. Mid summer with the sun high it should not make a difference. Here is a better pic of whole boat.

Sweet thanks I'll have to play with mine once it warms up. So just flip the middle braces and tighten down?

You will have to cut the 2x braces 2 1/2". I did 1 1/4" on each side. But in hind sight I probably should have done 2 1/2" on the long side from the bend. It will make the Bimini flatter on the top. If you are too worried about cutting that much off at once, start off with 1 1/2" and go from there.

Thanks! Does this make it flat enough to make a custom surfboard rack on the Bimini?

You really end up at 6'4" of clearance after doing this? I'm looking at a 2016 NXT22 but the bimini is the only thing that has me holding back. The look is one thing, but I'm 6'5", so it comes down to my shoulders almost!

How were you able to get the end caps removed so the polls could be cut?
I can not wait to stop bashing my head on my new boat!

I did the retrofit this past weekend. I cut 1 1/2 inches off the long end. I reinstalled the end pieces using a stainless screw in place of the rivets. Works great. No more banging my head😀

Did you just drill out the rivets to get end caps off?
