We we pulled the trigger and bought a 2005 ProStar 209. Fully loaded. I'll have to get some more pics of it, just have a couple right now. It only had 113 hours on it. So far we love it. I plan on getting behind it this weekend, as my wife even feels comfortable driving this one. Such a huge upgrade from the 1978 skier we had. Now I want to start adding some custom extra's to it:
Dual battery
Lighting - lots of options - just where to start - tower, cup holders, interior...
I really like the teak cup holder someone posted for the ski pylon!

Nice boat. It must be a late year build too. It has throttle by wire so you'll be able to add PP pretty easy if you want.

We were told it has cruise control, I haven't tried it yet but I hope it does since we were told it did! I"ll have to check into it this weekend.

Sounds good, anytime after mid July should work best for me.

Does anyone take their dogs out on their boats? We have a Lab who loved going out on the old boat and we love having her with us. But we are very concerned she will scratch the gelcoat and the seats? Any suggestions on how to take her with us and keep the boat protected?

We take our little dog out occasionally, she loves it if it's just us.. Lots of guys on here take their dogs out so I'm sure someone will chime in.

You might check the mans best friend thread for some more info.

In my old boat we took our Yellow Lab out all the time, but when I got my X9, she stays back on the pier, mainly bc of my MOCD and not wanting dog hair all over the boat. Also, when I'd be in the water getting ready or finishing she'd come diving out of the boat after me and then I was lifting a wet dog back in the boat...she's 95 pounds dry :)

Congrats on the new boat man! I have a yellow lab as well and I deal with the scratches on the seats by laying towels down. What drives me more nuts it all of his hair and how hard it is to get out of the boat...

yep, we take our blue healer (heeler?) with us almost everytime we go out. Keep their toenails clipped and teach them to stay on a towel (floor or seat) while riding. The only issue is the hair, but a decent vacuum and some elbow grease takes "most" of that.

For the dog, just keep lots of rags on board and keep the vinyl well conditioned and it's less likely to tear.

We take our golden out on our boat every trip. Long white shedding hair and all. Have a buddy with a newer boat that glues those soft toenail guards on his golden, but my 1994 vinyl is tough stuff. Never any scratches or pokes on mine. Our boat is for family enjoyment, and a) our dog really is part of our family, b) the rest of the family has more fun with him around. So he comes with.

Congrats on the new boat! Really nice.
