After using the new ProStar for a couple weeks I've come up with my first issue. It's a pain to take the bow lid on and off anytime you have extra people in the boat. I hate sitting the lid in the grass. Does anyone know of an aftermarket company that is making a stand or wall mount for the bow lid?

If not, any ideas on creating a rack for it. The rack must be coated or covered with something that will prevent any scratching. Thanks for your help!

Interesting post - I was wondering what people were going to do with the cover. Sounds like a weekend project with the buddies to make a stand with a couple of 2 x 4's and some carpeting from home depot... JMO

You may be right mikeg205, just thought I'd see what other people are doing with theirs, or if anyone knows of an aftermarket company

Go to walmart but a $20 comforter, make a wooden stand for it. Problem solved.. Mount the stand to a wall for an even nicer presentation. Doesn't sound like a major issue. Could even have a custom bag made for it.. Canvass bag with padded Insides and a zipper. Presto a storage cover

Sounds like a DIY project to me. No point spending a lot of money on an aftermarket piece.

This would make a nice wall mount ... The lid could sit on two of the hooks. It would be $30 for all of it.

Thanks guys, some great ideas. Hanging would be the most convenient in terms of space, but maybe not the most logical (if somehow it were to get knocked down). My guess that is if MC stays with the option someone will be making a stand rather soon.
Thought buying some steel pipe and creating a cart like you would use for lumber at Home Depot and putting noodles around each bar. I'll let you all know what I come up with. Definitely open to any suggestions!

Make a locking device for the top to prevent falling..

How heavy is the lid?

Have the FastTrack system in my garage for hanging bikes, yard tools, hoses, etc. Great product.

It's certainly not a bad problem to have! May have to try the fast track solution.

I'm not exactly sure on weight. I'd estimate 70lbs (on the high side).

Tyler, for my "future" PS, I thought going to make a padded case by a manufacturer of boat canvas. It's portable and cheap. I don't understand why MC don't think about that before. Another option to check on the list....

Why would MC take care of that the target demographic for these products should be able to able to get that taken care easily - an upholstery shop should be able to make you a Prostar hood cozy for a couple hundred - ;)

Make it like the bags that came with cars with T tops.

I echo most that have suggested to hang it on the wall.

You could also make a cart w/ wheels similar to what the Jeep guys make for their hard tops: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f19/hardtop-storage-dolly-plans-28539.html#post1224220

Converts to a hard top bimini on that tower? ;)

Look at a hardtop holder for like a TJ jeep or something

I'm thinking it could double as a bimini with the right mods to a tower. Of course that would require that you have a tower.

Not a bad idea at all, but don't have a tower! I'm sure that will work for someone though!

Shame on you for such a suggestion. Towers don't belong on SKI boats!:rolleyes:
