We picked up our new Boards just in from Jeff at SoulCraft just in time for our trip to Parker this weekend. He was just putting on traction pads as we showed up.

Both, Adult and Kids, Boards were awesome!
A great deal of Speed and Maneuverability with these new decks.
You are tricked in to thinking you could never loose the Wake LOL.

Within a few sessions I was already trying to Ollie (spl?) off the lip...
...at 47..something I never learned on a Skateboard (started that in 1973 )

Here is a quick clip of my Daughter Allison on hers , she was actually scared on the 1st Run as the Board charged the back of the Boat as soon a she let go of the rope...
In this clip she is getting a feel for the boards fast handling and response....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RkIinlPJb0&feature=youtu.be

Ill, see if I can upload old man footage.....we learned a lot this weekend..

Awesome! Post up some pics of your boards. Our boat is full of SC boards and I have a few more coming as well. If anyone wants one let me know and I can get you dialed in and hooked up on any new SC board.

Post pics of the board. Tell us what you ordered. What did you used to ride and what was the biggest difference.

I have one ordered and hope to get it soon!

Will do!!
We just cleaned the whole boat out today so I can get it serviced and have the GEN2 installed this week.
Boards are in the Garage.

Here are a few I-phone pics....my Daughter insisted she saw My FINS out of the Water....once...

As others will tell you, the Biggest difference over the "mass produced decks" is Speed and Maneuverability...
You "FEEL" like you can try anything....and you can.... You just might loose the Wake or Fall...1st

... One note about SoulCraft Boards if you are considering a new Wake SurfBoard.
This , like other Custom small shops , is a small outfit run by the Owner and maybe one or 2 others.
Jeff actually makes your Board, an AirBrush Artist paints any graphics, An Old Hippie works Magic Glassing your Board. Jeff sands and finishes your board.
There is no factory.... Just some hard working dedicated people , making a great product.

I stopped by a few times during the process , Jeff is always working, covered in Dust.... And Happy.

Yes, I'm aware. My board is with the painter and has been for about 6 weeks. I'm hoping it will be painted by today.

I'll post pics when it arrives.

We have 2 Soulcraft boards and absolutely love them. We have a Fang Tail and the new Da Honu. Jeff is a great guy to deal with and if you want something custom they can do it.

I remember doing that Fang for you Steve! Sweet looking board :) How do you like the new Honu board?

Ryan I have not gotten to use the Da Honu much because of not having my boat. MC had my boat for 2 weeks and I just got it back Friday. I like the board a lot. There is a big difference in the ride compared to a cookie cutter board.

My wife April swears by her Fang Tail that you got for her.

Glad she likes it. My wife loves her Fangtail as well. We finally got back on the water about a month ago and I have a new custom SC coming for me. I'll post pics when I get it. It should turn out pretty sick :)

New Soulcraft Traction. Best traction by far (and we've tried them all):

Nice Looking Boards, we notice the traction was a non-issue with the new Pads too.

I'm guessing the new traction swayed him.

How does the adding and removal of fins affect performance. Mine has a spot for two fins and then a spot for two more (thrusters/twinzers?) and the new fangtail looks like it has spots for two more in front of the thrusters/twinzers. Can someone give a little rundown on how they affect the ride? Thx.

Ryan I thought you were a wax man when it comes to traction?

Nothing is better than wax for huge airs but when it's 110-114 here it's too hot and too messy.

Ryan, tell me how to set it up? two, three or six fins?

I ride with the twinzer setup most of the time. I've ridden with all 6 and it's very grippy. When we go this week I am going to try the twin fin setup and nubsters in the back. My new board is about done and will be here friday as well

jgraham37128

Rear or middle fins, with the two small ones?

mzimme
06-17-2014, 07:25 PM
Ryan, can you give a breakdown of what different fin setups are good for? Assume outside fins are for grip on the wave. Whats a single middle fin good for?

jgraham37128
06-23-2014, 08:05 PM
OK, got to ride my board alot this weekend. Played around with all the fins.

six, very grippy, no 360's for sure.

Just the small front one's was like a piece of ice!

I settled with the small fron and the medium fins in the front slides. I really like it. You can get so far back on the wave and catch back up. This is the first thing I noticed. Second is it weighs less than half of any other board I've ever owned.

Great job Souldcraft! I'd buy it again and will probably buy another one next year because I like new boards.

My new Custom Soulcraft Boarding board is here! Blunt nose, three sets of fin boxes, grab rails and it's super light. Can't wait to ride this thing!!!

I haven't. This will be the first time I've used the WCT fins. I've been using Black Stix

I hope so. I'll be trying them out solo, twinzer, and with the nubsters. Maybe even in a 6 fin as well just to see how it rides.

I would leave them all in if I wasn't trying to master the 360. I've done it and can catch back up but not every time. I can tell though with this new board it's not going to be long. I can get so far back on this one and catch up, which has always been my problem.

That's good. Take some video while you're riding. When you watch it back it's helpful. You can definitely do 360's even with all 6 fins. The little nubsters at the back don't grip too much.

since you have ordered a couple boards what are you riding for adults 6' and about 200-220 lbs we have 3-4 guys in this size an weight and current boat isnt cutting it

TheWoons

Size of the board is more important than which one. Any of the Soulcraft boards would be good. Jetty, Fangtail, Honu. Sizing it right is key and I can help you if you want one.

I am selling a jetty for a friend. look at the board under the classified. I am sure my friend will move $ on the board.
