View Full Version : Removing Seized Tower Knob

I can't remove about half of my tower knobs (06 X2) and am wondering what is the best tool for loosening them. I can't get them off with my hands and tried a strap wrench, albeit one that felt pretty cheep, and it broke.

Also, for those where the knob comes off but the acre stays in, is there something that would work like the double nut method (i.e. something that would go on the threads but wouldn't ruin them) that would work with an impact wrench?

Try spraying some penetrating oil on them first. Let set for 24 hours then try......

I had to buy a HUGE pair of channel locks. That'll get it right off.

Pipe wrench worked for me.
