After a 14-16 month break from the lake and selling our last MC we decided it was about that time again. Picked up a new X30 from Robbie at Action. Adding the Gen 2 Surf system and some other stuff before we take it out for the first time next week. We are excited to get back on the water. This X30 is pretty well loaded up and it'll be interesting to see how the Gen 2 system works. See you all out there:)

Very nice boat! I noticed when I bought my MC, you were like the Surfing Guru on here with your X25, and than you just kind of vanished. What took you away from boating? You will be glad to be back.

Had a second kid in July of 2013 so we knew summer of 13' wasn't going to be possible to hit the lake. We took all of 2013 off. We literally surfed once in 2013 at Powell and that was it. We now have a 24 month old and an 8 mon old. In 2012 when we were going a lot we took our son starting at 3 weeks old out to the lake with us and he was out there every trip. There's pics of him standing on a surfboard at 4months in another thread. I can't wait to get him on a board with me soon! I also expanded my business so that's been taking up a lot of my time. www.DDWPartners.com if anyone wants to check it out. I have some cool stuff in my showroom :)

Can't wait to see that baby slammed and dialed! Wish you would have bought a 25 though. :(

We loved our 25 but the 30 surfs just a bit better and we love the rear facing seat. The 30 also handles a lot better than the 25.

A year wait or longer :) I have some pretty good connections. I have a brand new white one that I'll have soon as well. If you want one let me know

I actually do...... Serious as a heart attack. Just sold my 997.

I have been waiting to drive one, as I am not sure how I am going to feel about Porsche's brilliant idea to go "PDK only"

Either that, or I am crossing my fingers that the RS will have a manual option....

Call me. I've already tracked the 991GT3 and have seat time so I'm well versed with the new PDK-S. It's amazing and you won't look back. There's no chance the new RS will have a manual. Porsche knows it will be slower around a track and they don't want that…

Ryan no pressure but all of TT is eagerly awaiting your dial in on Gen 2. This is just what we needed, a detail-minded surfing connoisseur to put this thing on water.

I will definitely get it dialed quick. The factory Gen 2 bags are supposed to be 400's I believe. I am putting 750's in instead. Our boat won't exactly be "factory" ballast from the get go :)

Ya, I am certainly not banking on the RS having a manual option. Just wishing upon a shooting star.

PM me when you get the white one in. Both my 996, and 997 GT3s were carrara white. May as well stick with what works.

Great looking X30. They had one exactly like that here in the showroom that I fell in love with. I will be taking delivery of our 2014 X30 in a few weeks and look forward to copying what you do with the Gen2 and set up for surfing.

Nice Ryan! Excited to see how you guys push the limits. With everyone dumping tons of ballast in these Gen 2 boats we should have some good info to share soon! I hope to be on the water in 2-3 weeks with a ton of weight as well.

Congrats on the baby, X30 and expanding business. Did you or are you going to get any new surf boards?

Yes we just ordered a new Soulcraft yesterday and we have these three as well:

https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1.0-9/1926667_10202943951455720_1207924426_n.jpg

The one I did for my company I've only ridden a few times. I've sold a lot of boards for Soulcraft. If anyone wants one let me know. I'm not sure the Gen 2 setup will be good enough for us but we will see. I don't see how it can be as good as just weighting it on one side like we have in the past. The more they list the better the surf wake. I think the purpose of the Gen 2 is to make a nice wake and be able to switch sides quick and easy and that for us isn't that important. I'd rather take the 5-8min to swap weight on each side and have a killer wake than a mediocre one and be able to switch in 15sec. Can't wait to get some air though for sure:

Oh man a yellow 911 RS................................................ ..... that just screams track day and the Bentley? A mate of mines dad here in aus has a Continental GT convertible. Twin turboed carbon intakes from the factory thing smokes tyres going down the freeway. Hes also got a lotus exige pushing 600BHP quife gearbox 2.3l stoker turboed instead of the supercharger, tuned for E85. Every panel Is carbon Including the rear clam and theres literally nothing inside the car except a pair of custom carbon seats a pair of simpson 5 point harnesses and a steering wheel.................

Did you switch out for the Gen2 surf system? My 2014 X 30 has Gen1. If so what did they charge you? Is it worth it if you don't care about switching sides on the fly?

Thanks JD. Still inconclusive about if spending the extra cash for Gen2 is worth it. Sounds Like More Weight Is The Ticket.

The Gen 2 system works really well and it works well with a lot of weight too. If you want to surf both sides quick and easy it's the way to go. Being able to surf both sides on the same run is worth it to me. If you only care about surfing one side then it's not needed IMO because weight will always win. I can say for sure I love having everything on a switch and no filling sacs anymore manually.
