...... And sell me your old Gen 1 tabs!?!? :) With all the hype on the impressive new Gen2 surf system surely someone with have a nice set of Gen 1 tabs to get rid of?

My next question is...... Would it benefit me to retro fit surf tabs on my 2006 X30? Has anyone done this? I was told by the dealer that they could add them.

I posted this under the gen 2 tabs. I would also like to buy some gen 1 tabs when someone upgraded. I have a 07 x2 so I don't need all the computer upgrades.

pm me if someone is interested!

I've had some generic surf tabs added to my '06 X30 - I'm collecting it on Friday from the dealer - will let you know how I get on with them

Let me know. My dealer seemed to think it would work great.

For the price of the kit, any money to make the cost less I am sure will be welcomed openly.

I am upgrading my early 2014 X30 from Gen 1 to Gen 2 next week and will have the 2 surf tabs and actuators available if anyone is interested in purchasing nearly new (2014) Gen 1 tabs.

I've not had much luck with mine :( Every time we've tried them, it seemed to make the wake worse.

I'm a total beginner at this, so may be doing something wrong though. I had the dealer fit them before I collected my new to me 06 X30. We're only running standard ballast, but whenever I tried the tabs, they just seemed to froth up the top of the wake.

Best setting overall seemed to be KGB full, one rear full & center plate down about to way.

I also seem to have a rooster tail at ski speeds - I'm not sure if that's normal, or one of the surf tabs kicking that up - but it's about a foot high for me crossing the wake (33mph)

Overall - I should have spent the $'s on extra ballast - which is next on the shopping list.

Thanks for the feedback Alistair. I have stock ballast too and we found that running that same set up works best for us too. Looks like i will be going for more ballast instead of the tabs.

Tabs on your 06 would be a pretty big waste of money. It's been done before. There are some 2011s out there with gen1 surf tabs, they turned out to be pretty useless.

There was a user from Germany that put tabs on his 07 x2 and his feedback was pretty poor about it. Said it was a total waste of $1200 bucks.

My thread on building a surf wake for 06-pre 2013 X30.

http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=40934

My wake, not the cleanest day on the water, lots of rollers; tuber tom was already out but you get the idea.

Thanks Tim - I had already read that thread with interest - but a little too extreme for me.

My wife & I surf different sides and we have 2 kids who are equally split.

I was planning to just get some piggyback bags from Wakemakers - did you do anything like that as an intermediate step ?

I did have a custom sack made for my port side locker. That was before moving the batteries and having the 1400 lb sack made. The only real difference was the additional leg that was added that runs up the port side.

You could easily have 700s in each locker. I think the one I had made was close to 1k.
