I am trying to get the guide poles off of my 92 prostar trailer so I can remove the fenders . I took the two bolts out that hold them in the sleeve and have done everything from soaking in penetrant to jacking the boat off the ground with a socket against the guide pole to heating with a blow torch and they aren't moving . Anyone got any ideas?

Penetrating oil over time is the likely cure. How long have you been soaking it? Also good to give the post a couple good whacks with a dead-blow hammer or a mallet after applyinhn the penetrating oil.

Hitting them with the boat always loosens mine up; even when the bolts are tight.

A 50/50 solution of ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and Acetone is the best penetrant out there. Make you up a batch, and it'll help a lot with a lot of things...

A pipe wrench might get things moving, though will also leave some marks.

Take a close look and make sure it isn't tack welded.

.

Great point............that would make it tough to remove.
