Hello.
I am new to this forum, but not to the world of water sports. I currently live in Minneapolis, MN, and have a lake home up in central MN. I grew up on a lake in Southwestern Minnesota, where my friends and I would ski/barefoot from ice off to near ice on - on everything from HO to Kidder, JOBE, O'Brien, canoe paddles, VAN's, and old chopped wooden skis. It wasn't until 1987/88 when we all got serious, bought a pylon from Overtons, plopped it in my dad's 1985 Bayliner Capri with an 85HP Force O/B, and foolishly tried to build a course from orange painted milk jugs, nylon rope and bricks.
Anyway, growing up I've always coveted owning a Mastercraft (though I could say I bought my first Mastercraft in 1988 - a LaPoint Pro - Ha Ha).
Well, after looking for about two years, I finally pulled the trigger on a super clean, low hour and very nicely optioned 2011 X-15.
I am looking forward to learning a bunch from all of you as I am finally living a dream of mine.
Max Larson

Congrats on the X-15 purchase and welcome to the family. If this is your first inboard, you have a few things to learn, and this is a great place to do just that. There is more boat knowledge here than you can imagine.........some of it even accurate. Also you should know we all love pictures.

Love the slalom course with milk jugs.......I though I was kind of crazy when I built my own jump.

Thanks all! Pics are from the dealer. Picking her up in a few weeks as we still have about 3 feet of ice on the lake, and 2 inches of salt on the roads:

Great looking boat. Like the rest of us, it's going to be tough for you to wait on warm water.

Awesome boat, Max!

I was up at the cabin in Nisswa this past weekend and drove out onto Gull Lake and talked to a couple of fisherman. Most of the snow has melted, but he said he drilled through 40" of ice! 40" still! Cripes.

Welcome aboard! I'm over on the East side just outside of 694. My lake is 500' from me so I trailer my boat and plop it in when I need a fix.

You will be waiting for a while for open water. I am a kiteboarder and this winter was epic for ice thickness and snow cover. The snow is melted on the lakes but I am hearing that there still is a rock solid 3' of ice in the twin city lakes. Up North there is probably even more. We are going to need some serious rain or serious sun to blast that ice away. This could take a while. This could be one of the latest ice outs we have seen in a while.

I'm not waiting. I'm heading down to South Padre Island Texas in a few weeks to get a kitesurfing fix.

Congrats on the 15!!! I know how brutal that is to wait for snow/ice to melt. I live in Fargo, ND so we are in the same situation weather wise!! Hope you have a great first summer with your boat and we actually get some hot weather unlike last year!!

congrats and welcome the the MCOCD family :)

I am sure you will get lots of use out of it despite the late...super late spring we are having! In spring 2011 I already had the boat on the water... this year... 3' of ice!!

Yeah... Welcome for sure. I haven't been here that long either; little over a year. Amazing the knowledge that floats around here, and the willingness to share it without making one feel dumb to be asking. My Prostar came from Midwest MasterCraft.:)
