My brother-in-law bought a 2006 X2, and we've received some good help from this sight as we figure out some particulars. As for the radio, it has AUX inputs (red and white) in the glove box. Is there a cord that can connect to the AUX in to an Ipod? I bought this https://www.denniskirk.com/409502.sku?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&gclid=CI7Dwdrl-7wCFdTm7AodMEMACg and it didn't work. Any way to get an I-phone connected?

What portion of that dual input does not work with your iphone, the USB or the 3.5mm? Im assuming the head-unit has a USB socket for that to plug into? In most cases, what ever cable you use to connect the music source to your computer, works with the head-unit's USB.

i am guessing in 2006 it was the cdm6.

on my 07 there is a aux outlet below the throttle to plug the ipod into.

I'm not near the boat right now, but when I google CDM6 it comes up with CMD6 and that looks like it.

I did not have a 3.5 cord, so we only tried the USB to Iphone cord. The music played on his Iphone speaker, then when we pluged in the cord it just kept playing on the iphone speaker instead of transfering it to the stereo.

The only AUX connection are the red and white "femaile" plugs installed in the fiberglass of the glove box.

I think this is what you need.

I think '06 would be the CMD4. Are you wanting to be able to control the iPod or just use it as an external input? For external input on the CMD4, the mini jack thru the RCA connection should work. Many of the '06 models came with a remote mini jack installed on the driver's side just below the throttle. If you want to have control of the iPod, the EA1251 takes the place of the CD changer and will give you some control of the critical functions.

It is the CMD4.

This is what I use on my home stereos to connect my iPhone5. I can't control it, but it plays the music on my iPhone through the stereo. I plug the RCA male ends into an input on the stereo, just like I believe you need to do on the RCA females in the X2's glovebox.

Ok, the Clarion CMD4 does not have a USB input, so that USB/3.5mm AUX socket that you bought will not work for you when plugged into the USB. The only leads on that socket you can hook to the head-unit are the 2 AUX plugs, which are for the 3.5MM, not the USB.

Sounds like the same head unit that was in our 2005. I used RCA jacks from the AUX input that convert to a female headphone socket. Plugged a male/male headphone cord into the converted AUX plug. Selected AUX on the head unit, plugged in the ipod to the headphone plug - worked great.

What Niel said should work - works with my CMD4. The adapter you bought should work as long as you use a male/male mini between the iPod and the adapter. I also have the EA1251 module so that I can leave the iPod in the glove box, charging, and control it from the drivers remote.

On my 06 X2 I use the RCA to 3.5mm jack most of you are talking about, and then I found a bluetooth receiver that plugs into that. It turns the stock clarion head unit into a bluetooth connected unit
