Hey guys,

Got this prop from a fellow TT member. Trying to find out if it is an OJ XMP prop or not. I know it's a 13x11.5 but can't confirm it's machined. Help a newbie out here, thanks!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/04/yjeju9yb.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/04/ybaqyhy2.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/04/yzu2equj.jpg

Are you asking if it's a newer CNC'd prop vs. an older cast prop? It's CNC'd. Can tell by the grooviness :) of the blade faces. Cast prop would be totally smooth and have far less surface area per blade.

That doesn't look like an XMP to me, but ICBW.

I see evidence of XMP machining

^ +1. I have two OJ Props--one cast and the other machined. Yours looks like my machined prop with the tooling marks.

You know your boat came with a 13x13 right?

+1 - why did you get this prop?

If you notice, the new CNC props offered for our direct drive boats are 13x12 and 13x11.5 from both OJ and Acme. Yes, you can get a 13x13 CNC prop but it's likely "too efficient" for our engines...meaning we can't get into the proper RPM range with the 13x13. I settled on the 13x12 for my application 325ish HP with a 1:1 transmission. With the 13x11.5 my 34 and 36 mph rpm were a little higher than I wanted.

Number of threads say this is the better prop for this boat, I needed a backup, got it for a good price. :)

Hey, cool, I posted in that thread too. Wow time flies, 4.5 years ago. :)

Thanks for the feedback...it's not as shiny and the "grooviness" (h/t jk13) doesn't seem as pronounced as the pictures, but I guess it's the same as the way they show a Big Mac in photos and what you get in the bag :)

Hoping to put it on and be in the water within the month!

I bet it is an XMP prop that was re-touched by hand at some point.

That's probably a good guess.

Post a picture of the prop, brand can usually be identified by the shape. Your close ups dont offer any clues in that regard.
