I have a 2007 X30 and love my wakeboarding wake. I like the steepness and pop, even though it is a bit wide. I would like to upgrade to an X45, and would hope that the wake is similar to my X30. I suppose that it would be bit taller due to a little more boat weight, but would hope that it is not wider. I would like to hear comments from riders who have ridden behind both. Thx.

I cannot comment on the X30, but the X45 can have a good wake. It is a bit steep for my tastes, but my buddy did not seem to mind. With extra weight, it seemed finicky. Mpabreo (who I have not seen in a while) put more weight than I did, and he loved it. I am sure if you search for his name, you might find the X45 wakeboarding thread he posts some killer pics.

TallRed, still here, just haven't posted much in a while. No pics on my puter, but here's the link to what I believe is the thread you're referencing.

As for the X-45 wake, I highly recommend it. Do some research on this forum and you'll find a lot of good things. It is pretty wide, but nothing you can't adjust to I'm sure. When loaded properly, it can be very steep and poppy. Problem I've had recently is that for tricks out into the flats, you don't want a very steep wake, and to fix that on the 45 as I have it weighted, I've got to ride 26.6mph at 80' line.

here's a few screen shots from today, stock ballast full, two 550's in the back lockers, and ~850 in the bow, 80' line, 26.8mph. Maybe this will help give you an idea. We added 200# more to the bow today to allow for a not as lippy wake since we wanted to take some tricks into the flats, it did help.
