Iam looking at a 95 MC Maristar and wanted to know do they throw a good wake for wakeboarding? I have a 83 Ski Nautique 2001 right now and good friend offered me this boat and it looks showroom new. I know it needs a tower. My SN is a great boat but not alot of wake. Thanks

It is also a v-drive.......

I have a 93 and if u sac it out right the wake is wide and rampy. Your 2001 is more of wall compared to this the maristar. It really depends how you like your wake. I have ridin alot of different wakes and I have had alot of good riders ride behind my boat some like it ajd some dont. It really depends on the kind of wake you like. but u have to put alot of weight to get the wake right.

Thanks I like the wake to be more of kick so I dont have to carry so much speed into it. My Nautique I have to carry alot of speed to go wake to wake. He told me it has two areas beside the motor where I could put my fat sacs and be able to have them out of the way. In my Nautique there laying in the floor and takes alot of room.

I have a 95 Maristar 225.

These are the only pics I have at work. Hard to tell what the wake is like from these pics. No extra weight, 4 adults and 2 teenagers on board.

Surf wake is average. I need Fat Sacs to get a good surf wake, and then it's not going to compete with the new boats.

Wakeboard is average, again no fat sacs. You still get a good wake and most beginners to intermediate boarders will do fine. Add weight and it's better.

Fuel economy is great with the LT1 EFI. I usually burn 20 gals a day, full day that is, with swim breaks etc between sets. Mix of wakeboard and surf.

220 is the model. I have a 95 Maristar but it's the 200VRS. As others have said, the Maristar wake is more of a "ramp" and not so much a steep wake as a direct drive. I got more "pop" behind my Prostar 190 with only a few people in the boat because the wake was steeper and sharper. I can put a 440 lb sac in the floor and have 3 or 4 people in my Maristar and my wake is bigger, but it's not very steep.

I can get more air and distance (with less cutting speed) behind my friends PS190 than I can behind my 200VRS. I can't speak for the 220.

I have a 94 225vrs with LT1 v-drive and the wake is quite small. It's difficult to surf behind it with 4 average size people on one side. I will be trying out a fat sac this summer to make more wake.

We have a 225VRS. This is a picture with maybe 4 in the boat. My son is new to wakeboarding and could easily jump the wake by the end of the season. It's been a great boat for us. No regrets. My wife skiis behind and she is happy with the wake as well. We'll probably add some fat sacs next year...

I think he is saying that he is happy with his wake. I'm curious at what speed he was going. My 200 has a wake like that around 15 MPH but it quickly vanishes above 18 MPH. I board at 22-23, 60 ft line, and all I have is a hump. It's actually a pretty good V-drive boat for slalom and barefoot so I'm not complaining.

We have a '96 225 vrs, with enough people, or ballast, it puts out a fine wake. We've surfed, but not much. With only 1-2 people and no ballast, the wake is quite small.

We have a 96 maristar 200 VRS and the wake is is really good for salomn, wakeboardiing and surfing if you just put it in the right placeand have enough of it. It may take some practice weighting your boat but we've been really happy with ours.
