I have a 95 Prostar 190 with the LT1 and powerslot. I wet sanded and polished last year and looks great. 789 hours. 14x20 oj prop. Pulls awesome and goes 50mph. Not totally looking to sell but would like to know. Interior is 8 out of 10. I can post pics but it is put away for the winter. What is a current value for this. Probally not a lot of LT1 with powerslot and the best slalom hull.

$9.99 if you deliver it here. Half that if I have to go get it and tow it here. Best slalom hull is my 1993. Truthfully market and economy really control the price with how quick you need to sell it. I'm cheap when it comes to buying boats. If I was in the market for one I would offer less than $9,000.

Used prices seem to be on the rise....I paid 10K for a 95 prostar 205 in August of 2010...not I am seeing 95's ask 15K...comments from another post pointing to new retail helping resale value. New PS197 is about 70K

Is 50mph via GPS? Unless you have some engine mods done that setup is only good for 45mph.

Noticed that too in NC. Saw a late 90's 205 on CL for like 18+ the other day, newer x's way up there, and early 190's going for 10+ where as last year everything was nose diving. Makes me happy I bought mine last year

Id normally call BS too, as most people are clueless on their top speed claims... but this one may be legit. A buddy of mine has a '95 LT1 1:1 and the thing is FAST. I dont believe he's done anything beyond port matching the exhaust manifolds to the heads, but its a legit 50+mph boat. He's said 51 on any given day, but 53 with the motor cover up... and I cant say I doubt him! There are a few 95-97 190's on our lake and they all seem to move out pretty good... lots of hull out of the water. The late model 197tt in comparison looks like its in slow motion.

I used to have a copy of the WSM boat test page for the 95 Prostar 190. The test boat was an LT1 Slot and it showed top speed of 46mph. I have a TBI 1:1 and with the stock prop it ran 45 mph WOT. That hull is faster than the new hull but still isnt going to do 50mph without some work.

He said he has the 14 X 20 prop, is that stock for that boat?? The previous slot I owned was a PS190 and my present slot is a Maristar 200 and they both run a 14 X 17.5 (IIRC).
A 14 X 20 would add a little top end but lose some hole shot.

Yep, I had a '94 190 LT1 slot and it had that prop....but not that top speed!
I think the LT-1 with a 1:1 trans usually has better top speed.
I'll find out in the spring! :)

Ignoring everything and assuming the condition is excellent, I'd bet you could get $12K--$13K out of it. Just a ballpark off the top of my head.

I'd would say $12 k, but it needs to be in great condition. I also agree with the potential of 50 mph w/a 14x20 prop. My 98 Anniversary does it (yes, used a GPS too).

Like I said, Ive seen my share of bogus top speed claims (95% fall into this category). I dont know whether his boat is a freak or what- but the other 2 that share the same hull on our lake appear to be legit upper-40's boats as well. (The 197tt cant be capable of more than 42-43.) Perhaps MC had more than one mold, making some boats faster than others. Ive seen this happen before... my uncle had a '96 Nautique capable of ~50 out of the box with the GT40 (310hp). My '90 with the same hull, pushing 350hp, puts up 46-47mph on a good day. My buddy's 190 will outrun me handily, I hate it.

The 1:1 may also offer a slight advantage over the 'slot, though I cant imagine it makes more than a 1-2mph difference. My buddy's '94 with the same powertrain (LT1, 1:1) is nowhere near as fast up top- probably about 46-47mph.

Another good example of how hulls can vary. My buddy's '99 (LT1 + slot) is only good for 44-45.

My buddy and I did a side-by-side comparison with our '94s. His has the LT1 with slot, mine has the LT1, 1:1. There is about at 2 to 3 mph difference in top end. Mine does reach 50 on GPS, his reaches around 47. I propped up a bit from stock, to lower the RPM at skiing speeds, and I picked up a bit up top. His definitely has faster hole shot.

Jim @ BAWS had a 95-97 (don't remember) LT1 slot with a SS 14x20 and his went 50 as well.

I thought a 14 x 18 was stock for the powerslot? I know it was on my 89' Barefoot 190.

Sorry, for the threadjack. But the 454 max RPM is listed at 5k in the owners manual. Therefore, a 14 x 20 with 10% slip would be 56mph... Although I don'e get either 5k RPM nor 56mph, I think breaking 50 is not out of the question.

Got $13,500 out of my '96 190, LT-1, 1:1, 500+hrs, ND tower a couple years ago when the market was really tough for boats. Also sold it in the off-season.
Gel was 9 of 10, vinyl, 9 of 10, carpet so-so, crappy stereo, no PP and the trailer was in ok shape.
I'd say a good LT-1 190 is still worth about the same.

At $8k, must be looking for a quick sale.

If pics live up to description, should sell very easily at that price, IMHO.

Sorry for your loss... shame selling a '95 for $8K.

Say what? My 2011 WTT with the 6.0 and powerslot does 48 mph. Thing hauls the mail!

So its about 5mph faster than the same hull with an MCX? That sounds about right. I assume thats the powerplant in the TT on my lake- the thing makes a ton of noise (sounds good!) but sure doesnt seem to be moving very quickly. I assume its performing similar to the other 197's out there (reportedly good for 43-44mph on here with a 350 based motor). Its just a slow hull. The CC 196 (TSC3) with the 6.0L is good for 52+ in comparison.
