Its time for me to replace the original transom pad and I'm leaning towards the Seadek faux teak. But I can't decide to go with the brown teak or grey. The boat transom is primarily Red and the rest of the boat is black. Engine cover and seats are light grey.

Time for a poll!;)

A few months back when I was just exploring the idea of changing the pad, I had them send me a few samples- a handful of their basic colors and one of the brown faux teak. The faux teak pad was MUCH more comfortable than the other ones with dots on them. If you sat on their dotted product, you would probably have marks on you a$$ for the rest of the day. I don't care as much but you gotta think of the lady guests who sit on the platform... Looking forward to getting the faux on there bc the factory black "pad" was never any good to begin with.

I did grey teak. I liked the way it went with my boat. Sorry, no real pics....

Yeah, that grey looks good on white for sure.

Just saw a bunch of boats with the "faux teak" on them at the boat show. Very nice and much better the ones with the bumps.

The new MC pads are made of this also. I am thinking the grey for my 07 X2 will be the color I go with.

This stuff is WAY better than the OEM rubber and also better than the OEM Seadek MC is using now. MC is using some really thin stuff for OEM. The faux teak is double layer, so it is especially comfy for the butt and feet!

The double layer is the way to go. We spend a lot of time standing/sitting on the platform so i'm looking forward to having a comfortable pad for once and also not have the black junk rub off all over everyone's swimsuit.

Looks like the brown is the concensus so I may put in an order this weeked or next week.

Any thoughts on how is the best way to remove the old black one? I'm replacing mine soon too.

Let us know how the process goes for swapping them out. I'd like to see how it's done.
