Anyone have an idea of what each of the 2012 X boats costs? I am making a spreadsheet with all the specs of each boat, etc and I have a MSRP column with no values. Help?

You will need two columns, one for ARM and one for LEG. Just looked at the new X55, $168,000 MSRP. Up $25 from our 2011 X55. Just saying....

I saw some prices on boattrader.com for 2012 boats that's better than nothing. I'd think the dealers would be glad to give you MSRP since they are so inflated. They now officially cost more than my house (unbelievable) Good luck.

MYMC used to post the MSRP and options pricing on here every year. It was a pretty cool thing. Wish we could find a new dealer to provide, but MC has eliminated pretty much all the good dealers in the last 3 years.

If I ever get a windfall I could deal with the price of a new mastercraft...but I still could not deal with throwing all that sales tax down the drain. For instance in Illinois we now pay almost 9%...sooo it would be like throwing 8-10 grand out the window...my '95 only cost me 10K.... The new boats are gorgeous and all the features are cool... I hope the 2012's kick ***...

MSRP on my X25 was $134,430.00. It obviously cost a lot less than that, but that was the MSRP on it.

Mind telling us how much less? I am very intrigued by how much the prices of these boats has gone up over the years. I was talking to someone at my local MC dealer last season and he was saying that the overall sale of the x-boats has gone down as well..........

About $30k less. Still a big price hike over last year. This X25 cost me about $10k more than the '11 did.

With that high of a tax a person could pay for an apartment in Oregon that you "lived in" or merely visited a couple of times a year....

Did you have to pay this to register your boat in Washington when you moved here? I have a motorcycle that my father-in-law gave me that was titled in Idaho. My recollection was that as long as I could prove that sales tax had been paid on it in Idaho I was off the hook in Washington. It's been a few years, but that's my recollection.

:confused::confused::confused:

Very weird. Hike prices every year, and push out the dealers that help the consumers the most.

I know I couldn't run my business that way...

No justification at all. They Tax it because they can. Its all part of the Re-distribution plan brought to US by Washington DC.

I have no idea, I see no jump in the product other than the engine. Holding onto my 2011 x55 for a long time, I have no choice. By the time I want or need a new X55 they will be $2.8 million, without the tower.

watercraft sales tax in Illinois is 6.25% not 9%. I know this because I just paid it... Unless it changed at the first of the year.

Don't blame ya. I am going to hang onto my '08 X-15 for awhile myself. New boat prices = outrageous.

In southern illinois that is true. Northern illinois is 7.25. Then add some a trailer tax if your in chicago. Add another percentage if you life in chicago.

I'm in Northern IL..

Actually correction..... it's 6.25 on a used purchase (what I just did).. and in this case it doesn't matter where you are in IL.. And there is no trailer tax for a used trailer purchase either..

Moral of the story.... in IL, buy used... Not only for the cheaper price, but for the lesser tax reasons :D

Also GET OUT OF CHICAGO! LOL

What I find interesting is that it shows a $5k MSRP difference between the new X30 and the X25. From my own investigation it seems like the real world difference when pricing a X25 vs what I'm being told the X30's will be at is much more then $5k.

New and used are the same....I beleive 6.25 is IN tax. What do i know tho...i sold boats for 4 years in IL and there is NO WAY tax's have gone down in the 2 years I have not sold um.

All of these counties have a higher tax rate.

Alabama has a 3% "bring it in our state" tax that is annoying but no advalorem tax like GA. There is no sales tax on private/consignment sales of cars or boats unless that changed recently so new boats add 7% to the final sale. I try to buy newer used boats for that reason. Looking at those prices w/o trailer/tax and hate to say it but new is out of my comfort range by a long shot. Right now i know i could get brand new x2 for 65k w/ trailer and most options though.

I just posted exactly what was written to me in the email from TX MC. Here was the reply:

Good morning! Iím not positive on all of the MSRP,s but I will give you are asking price on all the models we have in stock. Hope your doing well and if you guys decide to get one of these I will make you a great deal this time of year. If you both buy one soon I will make you an even better deal. I look forward to hearing back from you.

2012 x-7 $65,000
2012 x-14 $78,000
2012 x-14v $82,000
2012 x-15 $80,000
2012 x-2 $75,000
2012 x-25 $90,000
2012 x-30 $85,000
2012 x-35 $90,000
2012 xstar $110,000
2012 x-45 $100,000
2012 x-55 $115,000
2011 x-80 $120,000 There is one left!

*These prices are boat only with no tax included. The price of a trailer is $5,000-$8,000 depending on size and brand.

Depending on options the price of each model could vary $10,000-$20,000. If we had only one in stock I gave you the asking price of that unit. If we had several in stock I gave you an average meaning not the cheapest not the most expensive but somewhere in the middle. I hope this helps and let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

I'm sitting here thinking I'm crazy as I just did this in the past 2 months and it was 6.25. Then I reread this post and I realized the disconnect.

When I meant used..... I was referring to private party transaction. In that case it's 6.25. If you're thinking retail dealer then yes that's a different story.

That all said a private party transaction USE tax of 6.25 on a used boat is still robbery.

8p I thought I was going crazy as well. Its "what you bought the boat for" that you pay the tax's on remember that.

Lane, great to see the numbers all in one place. however, I think the TX MC dealer provided you with the "asking price" not the MSRP. maybe you can update your excel sheet.

for example I think the MSRP on a 2012 X55 is around $150 to $165k. and MSRP on a 2012 X35 is in the range of $120 to $130k... trying to go off memory from the boat show....

hope someone else can chime in and verify what I posted or correct me. Thanks.

So speaking of taxes. Here in CA I got the privilege of paying 9.25% at time of purchase. Add to that the Personal Property tax I pay each year (the gift that keeps on giving) of an additional 1% in my county. I'm considering a new residence, at least for my boat.
