View Full Version : Fellow TeamTalk member in need

A fellow TT member's dying wish is to send his son to college. Here is the short version of his story:

I am dealing with my own diagnosis of Terminal stomach Cancer. About 2 months ago I was given 4-6 months to live, but I am feeling too good for that to be a reality. I am currently dealing with Chemo, so I have good days and bad days. If you are interested, I have a journal at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/seancallahan
It will ask you to sign up and create your own password, but it is user friendly.

Please sign in if you want to hear the rest of the story. I have met Sean before, so this hits close to home. This hits close to home for all of us. Pram has a paypal account set up and some TT members have already sent money to Pram, with the goal of me hand delivering the money to Sean for the college fund. Or you can log in and send money directly to Sean's home address! Let's step it up for a fellow member!

Pram can you post the paypal account to send the money?

Donation sent. I wish we could do more.

I understand that this site has taken a substantial turn for the worst and this thread confirms it. In the past, this thread would have been 15 pages long with a donation list equally as impressive. Anyone remember Spencer's puppy (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=7978)? It is very unfortunate that this cause has not received this sort of attention.

My thoughts too. 4 years ago there would have been hundreds of donations. I don't believe the economy has anything to do with it either. The economy may affect the amount of one's donation, (I could have donated much more back then) but isn't prohibiting anyone. This site has really gone downhill of late.

Keep it going! I'm getting some PM's regarding those of you who don't have a paypal account. Sean was accepting checks to his home address, but I just checked his website and this is now how you can donate to Ryan's college fund:

http://www.get.wa.gov/documents/WEB_COUPON_GENERIC_ready.pdf

It's very easy! Being a giftor, fill out the shaded grey areas, and write down "Ryan Callahan GET Account#11000241" on your check. (I would also write it somewhere on the payment coupon). Then follow the mailing instructions. Thanks so much.

Just saw this phrase ("Always pay it forward") posted in another thread. Think of all the money this site has saved you. Now is the time to give a little back to those that have helped you on this site. Just a little by alot of members will go along way.

I don't know Sean personally however having 4 kids to put through college (1 down, 1 almost done, 2 to go. last one is Sean's sons age) I know how much this would mean to Sean.

I will offer a free day on Lake Mead for anyone who kicks in to help Sean. If any of your are ever in Vegas. I'll treat you to a day on Lake Mead.

I have gotten notes with the donations that people have made, saying they hope that it is enough or that it isn't a lot and I just want to say the following

ANYTHING THAT A PERSON IS ABLE TO DONATE TO THIS CAUSE IS ENOUGH

A 100 people donating $5 is a quick way to get $500

Each $5 adds up

We are approaching the $1500 mark very fast on this, I would love to see $2000 or $2500 number being said

If all viewers kicked in 5 bucks. 2940 X 5 = 14700 think how awesome that would be.
That's only missing 1 Starbucks.

$2100 paypal received from Pram! Thanks all! I transferred it to my bank account. Says it's going to take 3-4 days??? (Is that normal?) No worries..... I plan on getting a Cashier's Check for $2,100 and taking it to Sean and Ryan on Monday!

Just got off of the phone with Sean. They would like to reschedule until tomorrow afternoon. Too many Dr.'s appts and hospice nurses today. I will try to get the check to them tomorrow. Paypal has already hit my account!

I dropped the check off this afternoon. It was nice to meet Sean's wife. She is very nice. Sean looks great and he is in good spirits. Sean is very thankful that we could come together to do this. Many thanks to all of you! Especially to those who have contributed and who continue to contribute to Ryan's college fund!

Terrible.....Todays update on Caringbridge:

Update
Good day,
I am Ric Bishop, a friend of Seanís who was granted access to this journal some time back, to help Sean and Jean if things continued to get worse, which they have. Please continue to keep Sean, Jean and Ryan in your thoughts, prayers and devotions. Sean and I spoke of a miracle a couple of days ago, and it looks like that is where we are with very little time left.
Please continue the posts and checking in on the Caring Bridge, I will bring information as I can.
Ric
