I just bought my 2007 x-1. Can anyone tell me how to put the top up? Or even if you could post some pictures of yours with the top up it would help. Any advice would be great thanks!

Assuming it is attached to the tower (and it is a zero flex tower)...

1 - unclamp the front legs from the clips
2 - unfold the top with the legs hanging down
3 - push the button in on the leg so it extends/dangles
4 - clip the round end of the leg into the recepticle on the tower
5 - repeat for the next leg
6 - Push the top up until the button you initially pushed (in step 3) meets up with the hole in the bimini leg
7 - then repeat for the second leg

Thanks Bob! Yes, it is the zero flex tower I'm attaching to. Can you post a picture of the top in the open position and another in the closed possition?

I did a google search on X1 images and here is the initial result (click for more results):

Here is a decent up close picture of an X-Star bimini (click on the thumbnail that has a shot of the top) and should give you a good idea of how it clips on the tower.

There is a allen screw clamp that I have to adjust each time...this does not feel like the proper thing to have to do each time. Do you all experence this too?

I have never had to adjust anything. Can you post a picture of what you are talking about?

My boat is at the lake house...I'll visit it on Turkey day and get a pick then.

Thanks!

Here is one with the bimini down. It folds with the back 2 sets of legs locked in on the tower and the front on the bimini. Nothing to tighten on mine, it is either locked in or not. The second is a little far away but you can see that you leave the back two right where they are and fold it forward to lock the front 2 in place. Using a magnifier helps

I looked at the 2007's and folded it should be right in line with the top of the tower. The legs of the two towers were different but they looked the same folded up.

I have it installed per the original owner's instructions...but he was loosening the set screw each time (did not seem right)...I'm going to visit my boat on turkey day, I'll try spinning it around and I'll take more close up pictures.

here is another picture. sorry not the best. it takes me less than a minute to put my bimini out so no adjustments like you are describing.

Looks to me like that is not installed properly.

I'd also like to ask how you all fold your tower for your X1. My garage door is 9ft and I fold the tower forward... which is kind of a pain because you have to have assistance in doing so. Is there another way of folding this tower? I've notice where some with the newer braces fold the legs forward and the back legs back?

This post has a picture of how I break my tower down. It's a 2006 X-2 so not exactly the same tower as yours, but I'm guessing yours should break down the same way. Front legs fold forward and the bulk of the tower folds backward.
