BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

Provides strategic and tactical support to the business by executing supplier quality activities to include advanced quality planning to support new model introduction, supplier development activities, component quality improvement, corrective actions, and reporting to maintain and improve customer satisfaction and improve total cost. Full engagement with the supply base to ensure that all purchased components and materials meet all performance specification requirements and do so over time to eliminate production down time, recalls or other quality failures resulting in customer dissatisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage incoming supplier quality
- Support MasterCraft KPO’s
- Serve as consultative resource and collaborative partner to both customers and suppliers to ensure all expectations are understood and addressed
- Handle and resolve tactical and strategic quality issues with suppliers
- Issue CAR to suppliers for identified discrepant materials to ensure suppliers are notified of the issue and ensure root cause analysis is complete. Review CAR to verify root cause analysis and ensure supplier has taken measures to eliminate future reoccurrence. Communicate corrective actions to key stakeholders and ensure follow up to confirm corrective action is being sustained
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, accurate manner and follow up on regular basis
- Conduct supplier quality performance analysis and proactively provide insightful information to VP Supply Chain
- Analyze and evaluate supplier quality performance and defect trends to provide optimal solution and/or recommendations for improvement
- Provide supplier quality performance data to enable the assessment of past performance, ensure continued efficiency and identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Manage incoming quality and monthly performance reports on suppliers
- Verify the materials received correspond to the documentation provided with the shipment
- Monitor the control of nonconforming components and materials, contact suppliers in timely manner to obtain RMA and disposition the defective components and materials in a timely manner
- Proactively work with suppliers, perform audits against MasterCraft standards and provide analysis and development plans to improve supplier performance
- Develop processes and systems with suppliers to assure maintenance/continual improvement of quality of purchased components
- Oversee the development of product quality standards, specifications and criteria for acceptance
- Review system and process audit results and obtain corrective actions from responsible individuals
- Excel in a cross-functional team environment, demonstrate leadership
- Manage projects to execute continuous supplier quality improvement plans

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- BS/BA in Engineering or related technical field is required
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, quality engineering environment
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Engineer, or Auditor is preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification with project experience is preferred
- Marine Industry experience preferred
- Quality concepts: basic quality tools, problem-solving techniques, and project management tools
- Intermediate to advanced level skills and demonstrated proficiency requirements, Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated accuracy with focus on details
- Ability to manage time and optimize outputs
- Leadership, accountability and ownership in all areas of work

- Must be proactive and demonstrate initiative
- Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The Supplier Quality Manager may work in areas without heat or air conditioning while standing or walking a significant portion of the day. There may also be extensive time working on a computer each day.

TRAVEL
Occasional travel is required. May visit suppliers and dealers concerning quality issues.
