Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Ensuring the product definition, requirements and component specifications for all systems are met.
• Ensure component and system compliance with industry standards
• Developing and maintaining accurate costing of all systems for new models.
• Developing and maintaining accurate documentation of all systems for new models.
• Developing and maintaining appropriate project management controls and approvals.
• Developing and maintaining accurate project schedules.
• Developing short-term departmental plans and programs that are consistent with long-term company objectives and strategies.
• Exhibiting problem solving/decision making skills and strong verbal and written skills.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate to meet company objectives.
• Support fellow managers in the development process
• Provide and support good team dynamics and synergy
• Maintain direct and frequent interface with other departments to insure consistency throughout the organization.
• Travel as required.
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. (Master preferred)
• 5 years of design and product development experience for a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with all standards in the development of marine vessels (Federal, ISO, ABYC, ETC,)
• Experience with Stage Gate Processes for New Product Development
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software (Rhino, Solid Works, ETC.)
• Working knowledge of PC based software (Word, Excel, AutoCad, etc.) (Project a plus)
• Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma production methodology (Green or Black Belt certification a plus)
• Experience with Customer service, dealer technical assistance and technical writing
• Must exhibit good people skills – trust and respect for all individuals
• Must execute job with sound ethics
• Must interface well with other departments throughout the organization, outside vendor as well as dealers and retail customers.
