Issue prioritization
This was tough, but I'm glad I did it. It's subject to change, of course, as new ideas are presented, but this is basically what I'm looking for in a candidate.
1) Foreign policy of that promotes peace first and military action as an absolute last resort. 2) Protection of civil liberties 3) Balanced budget 4) National health-care 5) Pro-choice 6) Equal rights which includes gay marriage. 7) Environmental protection 8) Free trade consider the pot stirred. |

Hey Doug- how big is your bunker?
I figure, if I have enough gin and bullets, I should be OK for a while. |

Big enough. Come on down. When Grand Theft Auto-San Andreas is released on Tuesday, I might as well be locked in a bunker for all the priorities that will be set aside.

No to, 4,5,6 and 8. Guess that is why I am a Republican. Enough said, you won't change it.
Important point about a Libertarian President.......Republican and Democrat Congress will stop virtually everything......Maybe start with the House, then Senate and then President. Guess my fathers GOP hasn't changed much after all. ![]() Last edited by Stritt; 10-21-2004 at 11:59 AM. |

National Health Care??? NO WAY... I don't have insurance and I still don't want that. Whenever the gov't takes control of something it becomes a money loser. It'd be awful...imagine the loss of anything that resembles efficiency and effectiveness, that's what you'd have...
Oh, and the environment should be higher... |

How about some lists, guys. I'm not trying to change anybody's vote, but I think honest and respectful discourse is invaluable.

Oh yeah, and the fact that you must mention Gay Marriage as a seperate subject from protection of civil liberties (which should cover discrimination) is a reason that shouldn't be on the list at all. If you start making laws for a certain group, you are going to be discriminating against another group. For instance, all those who support gay marriage (not me BTW), what do you think about people who are neither Homosexual nor Heterosexual, but Asexual???
I have a whole different argument about gay in general...if you want to hear it ask...but it involves medication... |
